Evgeny Romanov is a 6'0 31 year old Cruiserweight/Heavyweight with a 1-0 1 KO record. Born in and fighting out of Volgograd, Russia. Hailing from a city known for one of the bloodiest battles in the history of planet earth, The Battle Of Stalingrad (look it up), Evgeny known mainly on this and many other forums s the man who put The Bronze Bomber on spaghetti legs and ultimately down in the amateurs, Romanov who had above average power in the amateurs KO'd Deontay Wilder in the 3rd round of their match back in 2008, so its nothing for Deontay to be all that ashamed of. After over a decade in the amateurs Evgeny has finally decided to step up and take the plunge and turn pro in July of 2016, while he's getting a little bit of a late start since he's 31 and his somewhat small 6 foot stature probably won't go far in the Land Of The Giants, personally I think he's better suited for Cruiserweight, which I doubt he'd have a problem making since he only weighed 217 in his pro debut. He fights a very aggressive come forward style, he's very busy in the ring, constantly putting out his pawing jab, has decent head movement, good feints, good at cutting off the ring and like I said before decent power. He has quite a few decent wins in the ams over Magomed Omarov, Rakhim Chakhkiev who was a damn good amateur, Sergey Kalchugin, Robert Alonso (KO) and of course Deontay. So is it too late for him to truly accomplish anything great at 31, or can he still make an impact? Maybe one day the Russians will sing the Song of the Volga Romanov. :deal::deal::deal::deal:

Do you have any idea why he spent so long in the amateurs and waited this long to start a pro career? Seems like he just handicapped himself.

Not a clue, there isn't much info on him in English, and I went through a few Russian websites and finally gave up.

You can bet your bottom dollar Wilder's people won't let him NEAR this guy after what happened the first time they shared a ring together.

Hell, even with his 1-0 record, he's too dangerous an opponent for that fraud!!
