Rafael reporting that it is indeed mental health issues and Fury "may be insitutionalized" and "unavailable for the forseeable future"
What's your argument here? That mental illness is less legitimate a reason for not fighting than physical illness? If so, that's pretty ignorant. Also, who are these many 'mentally ill fighters'? Maybe the shouldn't have been fighting, maybe they were perfectly able to. Mental illness is no more a blanket term than physical illness.
The guy I feel sorry for is Wladimir. Pissed around by these cnts and now in limbo with no fight for a year when he's pushing 41. I think he should pursue Wilder for his last fight. WBC belt would make the set and cap off his legacy.
Wilder won't even fight Povetkin a guy Wlad thrashed so he isn't going to even fight a 40 year old Wlad.
There you have it. Fury is suffering from mental illness. I hope we can all wish him a full and speedy recovery. Get well soon, champ.
LOL, now Tyson is needing electro-shock like Vlad did. Rematch billed as, the two giant goofy loonies.
Dan's article incl. the mental illness bit: http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/...mir-klitschko-heavyweight-fight-called-second
We don't need a Lewis/McCall type of mental breakdown in the ring. Very puzzling these new developments, basically holding the heavyweight division hostage over some bull****.
I wonder who pulled the trigger seeing Fury out of shape and not training basically ready to get KO'd in October then called it off - Himself? Mick? John? The thing that sucks the most here is he was looking in decent shape ready to go before he fell on his ankle.... I don't think Fury has a path forward here...this Wlad fight is not happening and he might get stripped. Wilder in 2017 is the best case scenario...meanwhile old man Wlad has just put his body through 2 training camps for nothing LOL
So pretty much confirmed it's down to mental illness. A shame but also not surprising if you look back with hindsight at some of his past behaviour. I wonder if we will ever see him in the ring again. I expected his reign to be short and for him to burn out quickly but even I didn't expect it would be over so soon.
