How can they be greedy for asking for a percentage split?

What would you say if it was vice versa?

Also, unless I'm mistaken, I don't think K2 have disclosed what percentage they want. Not in the article that I've read anyway. In the article that I've read, it said they wanted a percentage split like what Floyd and Manny had, and their splits were used as an example. Yet here we have people saying that K2 are wanting that exact split. So either I've read it wrong, or a lot of other people have.

Yeah I've already tried to explain that myself, you'd hope everyone would get that, right?

I've not seen you type that.

    It's not just me then?

Lots of people are going crazy saying he wants the same split that Manny had.

    I'm a member of 3 forums, and it's everywhere.

I'm sat at home thinking: "hang on, that's just an example that's being used"

See the above I wrote this on page one, you're not on you're own in thinking this,it's a narrative that fits perfectly if you want to believe Loeffler is asking for the same money that Manny got paid is all?

It's like max Kellerman said; " GGG is a big star, Canelo is an even bigger STAR!" so GGG has to still make concessions to get the fight done. The people in GGG'S corner need to advice him to take the deal, if he wins He calls the shots the next time.
Also there isn't going to be as much money in this fight like there was for a Floyd/pac fight, so 60/40 split is absurd. 70/30 is a fair deal with the upside of the PPV.

I think he could get the price down if he agreed to fight GGG right away. GGG isn't interested in short money a year or two from now. He can make the kind of dough Canelo is offering fighting two bums in the interim.

Of course he'll demand more money. With the idiotic fan base he has, he's going to demand like he's Pacquiao and Mayweather combined. Golovkin's biggest win and test is a blown up Welterweight yet he and his team have the nerve to demand. They're living off pure hype and nothing else, they ought to be glad they're being considered.

Well yeah if I'm not mistaken GGG wanted the fight when it was promised after the Khan fight when Canelo still owned a lovely green belt, course it would of been purse bids with Golden Boy winning it,he also took step aside money before this.
GGG has two fights lined up and Jacobs is no Bum and we will finally see if GGG can be tested by a middleweight?

You reckon Golden boy would sign right now given that Canelo has got two fights at 160 before GGG?
I've no problem if Canelo fights two tune ups against bums but if he's selling em as pay par views they'll have to be top guys in the division like Lemieux, any loss from either guy and the fights probably off any way.

Lemieux and all the other bums Golovkin fought seem to only be top guys to his fans, and no one else. Didn't Golovkin explode into the arena as a 1/30 favorite over Lemieux?.

    They haven't demanded anything.

They just want to deal based on a percentage as opposed to a flat fee.

They haven't asked for the same split as Manny.

A lot of people have misread the article.

Also the ppvs are a key factor into negotiating this fight. Canelo vs Domestic Smith still hit his average mark of 300k buys, which is still 150k more than what GGG did against the more known Lemieux. This shows Canelo's drawing power is still bigger and better than GGG'S. :ARMS1: Take the money that's offered and get beat, it's simple.

Both of them have one or two fights that will happen before they face off. A fight with WBO title holder Saunders will probably be one of those fights. Any negotiations that happen now are more than likely just posturing with both sides basically saying they won't be pushed around. Nothing serious is actually being discussed. Real numbers will be decided before their fight when we know where each fighter stands within the MW division. Whoever has the WBO title before their fight will have more negotiating power than they do now so I'll wait until then before I pay attention to any of this pre-fight promotional hype you guys are getting invested in.
