At best it will do Cotto-Canelo #s, maybe a little more than 900K since the fight is currently still in its marinating process. GGG is not more proven or more popular than Miguel Cotto.
What has Canelo done to earn a mega-payday you ask?? He has created one of the deepest resumes in boxing today. He has been in PPVs totalling more than 4 million buys, and when you compare that to 150K buys. He sells out Stadiums. Sold out 51K with very little promo, as opposed to the Mega-Event in England against Brook, who sold 18K. He has the a country behind him, and has tons of American fans who are willing to pay for his fights. He beat the man at Jr.MW and beat the lineal MW champion. He doesn't usually take soft touches, all his opponents with the exception of Khan have been formidable, and has consistnatly fought the fights fans want to see him in, and if GGG SIGNS then he would have also fought GGG this next Sept. He has gone down in weight for Mayweather, and he fought at 155 against Cotto at Cotto's request. He took much smaller money against Mayweather, and took 5 million against Cotto's 15 million, why? Because he wanted to make the fight happen..Why? Because he knew even though he deserved more than 5 mil, fighting Cotto would payoff in the long run, and it has. Now tell me, what has GGG done to deserve 12 million..?
Perhaps so.. Letting the fight marinate was the best thing Oscar could do for Canelo's and Golovkin's pockets.
What hype? Together they might get 1mil if your expecting more your a fu(king idiot (no offense) but get serious bro
Not only that but it's increased the name recognition of fighters like Smith, Brook, and potential future opponents like the Charlos, Andrade, etc.
Easy there Jr. You basically agree with me and still throw the "fu(king idiot" remark. How do you think that makes you look.
