Linares too good there. Showed his top level experience. He was sheer class tonight.

there goes the crolla v flanagan fight for now. eddie says there is a rematch clause and if linares insists on a neutral ref he should stop him late next time

The Flanagan fight was never happening. It won't happen as long as Team Flanagan bring so little to the table. The money is all generated from one side so I would expect crolla would want a large majority of the split. FW wants 50/50 and that's not going to happen.

Thank God British boxing wasn't shamed and that Linares walked away with the belts, despite the best efforts of Terry O'Connor. Dragging Linares away for throwing a body shot? Warning him for turning Crolla? Pretty shameless stuff. Everybody in the arena could see the gulf in class, the atmosphere was like a library throughout.

Agree with all the above. Why has Conor Benn even moved up from 140?

The referee was shocking for the first few rounds. They were good body shots and I'm not sure if it affected Linares' tactics. I don't think he threw shots to the body at the same rate as the first couple of rounds.

Am I the only one who doesn't want to see the re-match!! Linares in a different league to Crolla.

Agreed. Presently, I think only Mikey Garcia would defeat Jorge Linares at 135, although Dejan Zlaticanin would pose Linares a few problems with his ruggedness.

What about Flanagan though? You could understand why him personally could see himself as the champion and should be rewarded well for such a risky fight. I'm just not convinced they would be able to agree terms for that one.

That did make me laugh! Ref was abysmal, I was thinking "here we go.." when I saw he was the ref.

I'm glad Froch and Malinaggi picked up on it though and actually said it was bad, the old team would of brushed it under the carpet more likely than not.

Quite how Terry O'Connor is continually selected to officiate high profile matches is beyond the understanding of most sensible people. He doesn't seem to have any level of consistency in his officiating.
