Crolla never recovered from being hurt at the end of the sixth. Was under no illusions that he'd lose the early rounds but thought he could stop him late on. Just wasn't the same after getting wobbled. Hats off to Linares.
I would be astonished if there was a rematch..it was hot air from all involved Linaries was a clear winner and there was a big gulf in class. Linaries would KO Crolla in the first 6 rounds if for some bizarre reason they fought again
Hearn says a rematch is already agreed. Had Linares winning 117-111. No reason to do it again. Crolla vs Flanagan makes much more sense.
Money talks. Lineras would gladly come back if his paid well enough. A fight he would clearly believe he would win and make a fortune doing so. Makes sense.
I've not seen the fight yet but it sounds like crolla was completely outclassed? Crolla vs Mitchell would have been interesting
I had Linares winning by 4 rounds but I thought it was a good fight to watch. I wouldn't mind watching the rematch if it happens.
I had linares by 1 round. Didn't like the ref giving warnings for non existent low blows on one accasion he saved crolla from taking a count
I know. He either stops a fight far too late, or far too early. I'm at the point now whereby, if O'Connor actually stopped a fight during the introductions or during the national anthems or during the touching of gloves, it wouldn't surprise me. The only consistency in his officiating is his ability to make baffling or shockingly bad calls during the fights he referees.
Crolla won the next round (7th) so not sure why you're saying he never recovered. He was soundly beaten in every single department by a fighter who's in a different class, i personally had the fight scored at 9 - 3. Same result if they fought another 10 times.
The fight was close and competitive and I would watch a rematch, no problem. Not that I think crolla would win...I would favour Jorge l again. To have any chance crolla would need to vary his game, add new dimensions etc. In other words leave joe Gallagher.
Crolla didn't have the power or speed to match him. Not sure how a rematch in a few months sorts that
I think team Crolla will realise that when the dust settles it the coming days. A rematch you can't win would be miss management/cashing out. Surley a Manchester derby with Flannigan for his belt is the way to go next.
Had linares by 5 rounds rematch AC gets stopped ...AC made a few quid needs to call it a day been in many tough gruelling fights God knows what he will be like health wise in a few years ..
Eddie was trying to sell the fight telling the crowed he believes AC would win the rematch this was not even 1 minute after the fight had finished..i dont think the boxers welfare is top of Eddies priorities
