HBO did a marvelous job dumping Pacquiao/Vargas and going with SOG/Krusher. Brilliant.

Let's be honest, no one really really wants to see Pacquiao anymore. The casuals have moved onto bigger and better things, and HBO sees that.

Ever since Floyd gave him that beatdown, Pac has already lost almost all of his lustre. Now that he's cherry picking again (Rios, Algieri and now Vargas), people are really starting to see the light.

Let's be honest, does anyone really wanna see this bs fight?

I haven't heard any of my boxing friends even talk about this b.s fight and some of them like Pac! They're talking about Son of God/Krusher.

    Brilliant move by HBO!!!

Um, Kovalev-Ward was finalized first before Pacquiao-Vargas. Having 2 PPVs in one month is too much for a business model that is essentially failing. Crawford-Postol tanked and so did Canelo-Smith.

Had Pacquiao-Vargas been scheduled for December, it wouldn't have been an issue.

And don't lie! We know that you don't have any friends!

If Pac really was a draw, they would have definitely kept him, but no they decided to dump him. Good choice. NO one wants to see that bs, everyone wants to see SOG/Krusher.

Sorry but it's not true that "no one wants to see Pac anymore" No one wants to
PAY to see him fight Vargas. Or Mayweather. Or maybe anyone. But people
will watch him fight for free.

I will watch this fight, but I won't buy this fight. Pacquiao is great entertainment but his constant in house fights at Top Rank won't help him anymore.
People want to see him destroy a Haymon fighter but he won't fairly compensate a Haymon fighter. His ego won't allow him to accept that he is not what he used to be. To add to that he has to watch his nemesis ball outs control while he still "has" to fight for money.
I seriously feel for the man. Has Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, and Roberto Duran money problems taught people anything?

4 million to Broner and Garcia is low balling? Pretty sure Guerrero, Ortiz, Berto, and Maidana all received less than 4 million...

Ward is the bigger star than Pac, so HBO just went with him

If either one of these posts were true then Top Rank wouldn't have picked up the PPV. HBO just didn't have the budget.

It's obviously not going to do 800k+ like he used to but it's not going to flop.

But people have been saying how Ward/Kovalev won't even do 150k, why would they opt to stick with this one instead of going with Pac/Vargas if Pac/Vargas will hit more?

    Makes no sense.

The fact is - Ward/Kovalev will likely do more, Pac's last ppv was 250k. Maybe even less.

HBO wanted the fight , but not in November. Bob Arum said Pac cant do it in December because of his schedule, whatever that means.

    All this according to Arum....so....
