Okay, just wanted to clarify that you were laughing at the technique of some of the best punchers in boxing history.
His main objective is to unify the middleweight titles. So that has to happen first. Theoretically he could still fight at HW. But he probably won't. And definitely not at the elite level. Golovkin can punch as hard as a heavyweight, but that doesn't mean he has what it takes to fight Deontay Wilder or Joshua. If he was a natural 185lb, perhaps. But as a natural 160lb guy, he's he's too small for the top giants. I mean ****, you never know right? But god that seems like a bridge way way too far. Maybe if he was younger, his climb in weight classes would have more time to develop properly. But I don't see it happening. I do see him climbing up to take down Ward and Kovalev. And depending on those performances, I can see him moving up some more.
Gennady supposedly has heavyweight power but look what happened when Bob Foster the LHW monster went to heavyweight. He had nothing to offer at heavyweight besides his skill and got destroyed for it.
I'll tell you what. If boxing still allowed it, I bet you Golovkin would've fought heavyweights without going over 190lb. And would've done well.
Didn't he only lose to Ali and Frazier at hw? Were the Terrell and Folley fights also at hw? Yeah, those are pretty tough fights for a guy at Fosters weight. But I consider Golovkin a better puncher than Foster.
