If you thought two of the scorecards were quite bad, I found this article which shows what the scorecards were going into the last 3 rounds. Two of the judges had Crolla winning...

Like Malinaggi said, if we want to get the big fight's in the UK, we can't have home cooking going on.

Personally I think Linares would of been even more comfortable, had he not had to stop throwing shots to the body for a few rounds.

I actually think the UK is one of the better areas with scoring. It's become a stereotype that doesn't really fit anymore, like British Glass chins. When was the last time a foreign fighter was well and truly robbed over here?

You make a fair point, but I think it's more a case in the very recent years that officiating has become worse in the UK.

The above link for me highlights a worrying recent trend in scoring a fight. Sky have been banging the drum particularly about 'it's subjective and it's all aboutwhat you like' in some fights.

Actually it's not, it's about hitting and landing scoring blows and not getting hit back. Nothing annoys me more when fighters get given rounds, for ineffective aggression. It doesn't matter if there being aggressive, if they aren't landing clean punches and there opponent does, even if it's fewer or lighter punches, the opponent wins the round.

I scored it wider but I don't think 7-5 was completely ludicrous. You could at least make a case for Crolla in 5 of the rounds

Was ringside, I had it a close. Maybe Crolla by 1, accept I am bias, but didn't have issue with the two closer scorecards. People nearby thought Crolla had it. Looked like Crolla was catching a lot of fast flurries on his gloves, was beating him to the jab a lot and on a few occasions Linares was blowing and hurt.

Watched it back when I got home, then had it Linares by a few rounds. Looked a different fight. Linares was class, I'm sure he was gassing or hurt somethimes but clear from a different angle he was setting traps and knowing how to win the rounds.

I think sometimes it is easy to forget that the Judges only have 1 angle of the fight and don't get the multiple screens and angles we get watching at home, so it is a perspective of what they see.
Watching it on sky I had Linares wide, i'd scored it 116-112 and that was with a home fighter cap on. Linares is a far better boxer than Crolla technically, I don't think there's any doubt about that...

This is it...if your supporting someone especialy when ur at the fight with less angles of viewing, then you can let the fan mentality skew ur opinion.ive done it myself
I had the fight 9-3 or 8-4 was also acceptable imo.
As much as Ants is a real cool kid and wants to better himself, which is good, linares is still class which btw i wasnt sure if he still had it and did tip a crolla late stoppage.
In the rematch crolla has to find a way to counter, some fast educated feinting wouldht go amiss either as linares was pawing that jab too easy ants was slso missing leading off there.

I think the 115-114 was disgusting, it was not that close.

I said on another post, if there is a rematch then Team Linares should insist on selecting the referee and also have a big say with selecting the judges.

John Keane shouldn't be allowed near a boxing arena never mind judge a fight...
Him giving Crolla 4 of the first 5 rounds is an absolute disgrace!!!
And thats coming from a big Crolla fan...
Also the guy who gave Ryder 2 rounds, needs to be thrown out of boxing and I had a bet on Jack...

Wow. How utterly unsurprising. No wonder Eddie was so pissed off with the judge who scored it correctly, he had the other judges giving Crolla rounds for the slightest bit of success in a round.

It is pretty much the same story anywhere you go with regards home cooking Italy back in the day when they had big fights notorious.

USA,Germany,Russia where there is big money and a home interest you rarely get the away fighter getting a close decision has gone on since the beginning of time.If you travel away it's because the money on offer is too good to turn down the best away performances are when you go there knowing you are going to have to ideally stop the home fighter.

The mentality has to be expect no favours and almost write off a couple of rounds on the cards.

Boxing has never really been about total fair play be it inept judges to downright crooked ones, doubt it will ever change tbh it is in the dna of the 'sport' it seems.

To give an example of outside interference going back centuries as someone that has read and written a bit about boxing history read about Tom Cribb v Tom Molineaux 1810 first fight the hometown favourite benefiting from crowd participation!

Honest to god don't underestimate the crowd in a fight like this, I was there and had it to Linares by like a round, maybe 2. I was even thinking to myself that it could have been a draw.

Judges are only human, unless they're going to sit in the back watching a telecast with the sound off they'll always be swayed (unintentionally) by the crowd. Whenever Crolla had Linares backing up and landed anything, the arena went mad. Linares was landing 5s/6s and you couldn't hear a sound.

If you scored it close then fair enough, when I re-watched it, it wasn't as close as I originally had it but people are chatting on like it was a shut out - it wasn't.

I had it 8-4 to Linares in rounds, 5-4 after 9. Did you notice on the Usyk bill the judges all had headphones on?
