Well you think Marciano falling over from missing a punch is a sign of a great puncher,so go with whatever suits you. Marciano's own trainer Charley Goldman said," he had two left feet", but what did he know?

Many other examples, where? I keep using it because fan-boys keep saying he had good balance when he didn't, just like he wasn't defensively clever,or fast of hand, or foot.

    Nothing I said contradicts them.

You're misusing their statements, and giving them way more weight than I think intended.

Mcvey, what you're doing is like going into every Ali thread and saying "Dundee said Ali did everything wrong as a boxer." Most boxing fans understand how to weigh what Dundee is saying. We don't take it to mean Ali was a bad boxer.

You're misusing quotes about Rocky to paint him in a much worse light than the quote authors intended.

    Tyson could be frustrated.

But 9/10 times he'd be 100% on balance.

The Smith fight was extremely frustrating for Tyson since Smith was only busy clinching and trying to not fight.

Prime Tyson had excellent balance throughout almost all of his fights.
The smith "fight" was just a sad excuse and should have been a DQ win after a few.

If this guy was in the gym sparring, would you look at him an say, "Gee, he has some serious balance issues?"

    Honestly

So we can make excuses for fighters we like, but not for fighters we don't like.

    Seems logical. Not.

If Goldman said that , then he'd be appalled at what he'd see today. p4 pounder Bradley has fell over his own punches i don't know how many times.

In the first min of this video , you can see Lewis having have such bad balance , he needs to touch the canvas to keep himself from falling down.

    The full quote:

"I got a guy who's short, stoop shouldered and balding with two left feet. They all look better than he does as far as the moves are concerned, but they don't look so good on the canvas. God, how he can punch." - Goldman

Wlad beat Povetkin the same way Smith lost to Tyson.

I don't know , but i see a lot of people thinking that work print version of Lewis could've beaten Bowe. :copas:

Bowe was always set up to punch. His balance was almost perfect.

See, if we're talking relative to all time legends, then Rocky does have poor balance. When you compare him to Ali, Louis, Dempsey, etc.

But you make it seem like these flaws are way worse than they actually were, and that Rocky shouldn't even be considered as being good. Thats what you sound like.

No I'm simply asking how Marciano would fare against the men I named and so far his supporters have come up with jack sh*t to prove their argument.I started this thread so that it would run concurrently with the one I made about leaving Marciano and Frazier out of my top ten I was hoping to find some objectivity but I should have known better the sacred cow that is Rocky Marciano can never in any way be criticized.

There have been posters on Marciano threads that having been presented with facts that point to him being dreadfully disadvantaged against super heavyweights with talent and power.Their response was "he would find away to win".You cannot argue rationally with such people because they are closed to all logic and this thread just reinforces their closed -mindness.
