The uppercut is the punch a shorter guy is most susceptible to. What is your point in naming Dempsey? Are you somehow saying his style was inefficient?

Tyson was past his best by the time he fought Douglas. Tubbs was out of shape his entire career, Berbick was the champion and Tyson did to a 39 year old Holmes in 4 rds what Holyfield couldn't do to a 43 year old Holmes over 12 rds.

His style worked for him like the shell helped out mayweather. Who can say which is more effective the Dempsey roll or the mayweather shoulder roll there both rolls.

If classic Marciano fought a version of Marciano who was 3 inches taller and 25 lbs heavier who do you think wins?

    Classic Marciano easy...

Marciano relied on getting low and coming over his opponents guard as well as having better stamina which was his best asset. A heavier Marciano would have worse stamina and the low crouch would be neutralized.

I don't think you know very much about Marciano.

So Professor DagoWop if classic Marciano faced a version who was 2 inches shorter and 20 lbs lighter classic Marciano is in big trouble?

Fulton was the Michael Grant of his day. All hype beanpole who proved to be a nothing in the division.

Morris had lost 4 of his previous 7. I have quoted the newspaper article out of Nebraska that wondered if he would even show for their bout in Buffalo because he had become so unreliable and disinterested.

Willard had fought 10 mediocre rounds in 4 years, was 37 years old and an amateur in most regards.

The point is he could box well, had good power, and speed. CONTRARY to what you guys who attempt to discredit the old time super heavies say. That is all I am arguing. I could care less about the place of each specific fighter in history. I know who the contenders were and their limits.

The power and strength of Marciano would be decreased. A middleweight fighting a heavyweight....is this what your argument comes down to? Read the OP, this thread concerns Heavyweights. I am pretty sure I have said this to you many times.

What do you mean that got personal? I was responding to your reply...is that not allowed?

I am very direct and up front with the way I talk. I try to not bull**** around because I don't want people to bull**** with me. If that is a problem for you then I am sorry you feel that way.

Who are you talking about? Morris, Willard or Fulton? Which of these had good speed.

It is very important at which stage an opponent is met in their career. Otherwise, we start speaking of Trevor Berbick as an ATG because he beat Ali.

You may feel you are direct but you are misguided. I simply posed a question. I did not offer my opinion. I asked the question.
I am repeating myself because you appear to have difficulty grasping this. It is strange that asking a hypothetical question means I don't know much about Marciano.

. . .but the power and strength of Marciano would increased if he was larger.

Fine using your theory , shorter stature and being lighter is an advantage but it is not just the relative size . . . its the label of the weight class?! Ok, an inch and a half shorter, 12lbs lighter classic Marciano is in trouble? They are both heavies.
