How does the RJJ who outpointed Ruiz fare against the Willard who got bombed out by Dempsey? I could see him using his superior speed and reflexes to outbox Willard and ambush him with hard potshots all night long.

willard rips his head clean off after losing on points most of the fight, in todays ring.

    Actually, pretty interesting matchup.

    This could definitely happen.

Jones, Jr. takes him apart and finishes him under 6 rounds.

    lol!
Like you think Willard would just walk out of the ring from frustration?

From concussion not frustration. Willard didn't belong in a ring in 1919. He's a total mess. Old, rusty and unprepared. The Ruiz that Jones beat is leagues better.

looool thats so disappointing coming from you.

Dempsey couldn't KO him, but RJJ does?!

Maybe you pulled the trigger too fast on this one... lol

Maybe the sun hits his eyes, he stumbles, and his neck hits a stool like the Million Dollar Baby.

    You never know

Jones would stop him. Of that I have no doubt.

Also, if Roy had jumped out of the ring after the first, I have no doubt he would have been DQ'd.

Roy Jones is the only one who's too fast here.

Willard could potentially win over a longer distance.

People who argue that modern fighters were superior to old timers based on size, and then make a pick like Roy Jones over Jess Willard, are essentially hypocrites.

No, it just means that for all these years you've never actually understood what those posters have been arguing. Many of us have consistently pointed out the enormous skill and technique gap between Jess Willard and more modern heavyweights.
