Frankly I think that it would trump SRL vs Hagler.

Hagler was on a clear decline whereas GGG has shown no signs of slipping. Furthermore 160 is above Floyd's normal fighting weight.

At 160 I would bet my house and schlong on Golovkin doing something horrible to Floyd.

IF Floyd ever fights GGG it will be at some ridiculous catchweight and dehydrated Golovkin will need a stick shoved up his butt to keep him standing during the weigh in.

Think it would be a better win (at 160).

Hagler is better than Golovkin (most likely, certainly P4P), but Golovkin is bigger than Hagler and Floyd is smaller than Leonard.

Hagler the counterpuncher was stylistically also more suited for a Leonard on the backfoot while Floyd would have to fight an uphill battle against a pressure fighter.

Im not so sure about that

Gennady has ATG power, skills and chin. No one can say for sure Hagler would beat him

I would rate it a better win for the reasons BCS8 stated

Absolutely. Floyd is how old now, nearly 40? Ray was 30.

Floyd started at 130lb. Ray at 147lb so was only jumping 13lb. I say 'only'; it was still a tremendous achievement.

Golovkin is prime (we think). Hagler was declining.

I'll join BCS8 here and bet house and schlong. If Floyd pulled it off - the win, not my schlong - then it would be the greatest achievement in boxing I can conceive.

Its always GGG vs smaller guys in these fantasy match-ups Where's the achievement in a monster MW beating a tiny guy like Mayweather?

Why no - how great would Golovkin be if he beat Ward, Krusher , Usyk , Lebedev , Wilder?? His fanbase never want to ask these questions. Beating on guys half his size is good enough for them ..:yawn:

Only Reznick thinks he can beat them, including Usyk and Wilder.

Same here it would be even bigger Floyd is more on the decline then GGG unlike Leonard and Hagler and is a far smaller man naturally. Although it would have to be at 160 to get full credit. Doubt it ever happen more likely we'll see him fight that excuse of a fighter danny garcia.

You'd have to ask all the Mayweather fanboys who are convinced GGG would be an easy win for Mayweather what GGG would accomplish by beating him.
