Does Fox Sports still put on those cringeworthy Australian fight night shows which were generally on a Friday night ? Most often the main event would consist of an Aussie bum with a ridiculously padded record of something like 15-11 fighting a chap from either Thailand or Indonesia (also generally 2 or 3 weight classes smaller than the Aussie fighter). What made this garbage even worse was the commentary of that buffoon Andy Raymond talking all sorts of nonsense and making out that the viewer was watching a modern day Hagler-Hearns classic.

It was very funny stuff.

 

Friday night Nitro Boxing and Jeff Fenech fight night. The main event was usually a Hussain brother, Marc Bargero or a young Sakio Bika. Those were the days

So Joe Parker won and apparently is a front runner for the fight with Anthony Joshua.

Lucas Browne was won his court case with the WBA and will be facing Fres Oquendo for the WBA "regular" title in December(? I think that's what the ruling was yeh?)

Browne is going to smash Oquendo and he's bringing the WBA belt back to Aus. Put the farm on it.

If Parker gets the Joshua fight it's a big mountain to climb but if he pulls it off he'll take the IBF back to NZ....

So by about late Feburary or March next year it's possible we could get a WBA/IBF heavyweight championship unification fight in Australia or New Zealand!!

To be fair though, in the video above it deco appears the harder shot to the ribs came after he was already on his knees. I wouldn't have been surprised if the ref questioned it

 

Another scenario is if Parker fights Ruiz and wins the WBO strap and BD wins the regular WBA we could have that, though I'm not sure wether the 'regular' counts as being unified. Maybe the WBA wouldnt go for it as it takes one of their 'belts' out of circulation
