Dawson, Froch, Kessler, Abraham, Green and now Kovalev. This resume is absolutely unreal.

Smith...Barrera and Brand is a huge fall from Grace...those 3 in 4 Years is not a great preparation for a fight against Kovalev....Ward is in a bit of Trouble I think.!!!!

I really think the last 2 fights were to knock off rust and get the timing back more so than prepare for Kov. Ward seem intelligent enough to know this! He will be ready for Kov.

It's a decent list of names for sure and I don't want to belittle it, but Green? Bika? Barrera? La Bomba? Hell, even Abraham was never anything special at SMW. And there's no getting around the fact that Dawson was not OK for their fight. Basically Dre's greatness rests on beating Froch and Kessler and upon the style in which he beat them. Don't get me wrong, I think Ward's a sublime boxer, and these two wins - especially Froch in hindsight - are as good as anything done by his peers at SMW and LHW in recent years, but TBH it ain't really as spectacular as it's often made out to be.

Greens not worth mentioning - Mirandas better.

Although outside that list of core elites that you mentioned, theres not a lot in the resume. Still, its an awesome list for a 31 year old man, just underlined from the fact that I wrote "outside that list of core elites".

Abraham's not elite, now I think about it. His career with world titles is like hes playing musical chairs -got one! lost it! got one! lost it...

I feel he drew level with his win over Paul Smith, but the win over Brand put him above Manny. That's just my opinion of course and not fact.

the smw of the super six weren't that special and Wards resume only looks good because he literally cleaned out a division which not many have done. Froch was rated no.2 at smw for some time and his skills were terrible (although he was durable as hell!!!) that should reflect the state of the smw division when Ward its king, then add the guys he fought after and it doesn't amount too much tbh, not saying they weren't good fighters but none were that great. Ward's defining wins for me were Kessler and Dawson as both were riding high and where considered top of their divisions and Ward did a number on them. Even considering this there's absolutely no denying that he's P4P top 5 and I have him beating kovalev then going on to have one of the best careers of this era

Nevertheless Rigo schooled Donaire and Donaire's stock dropped to nothing. You can talk about Rigo's personality like it's some popularity contest but he put a master class in BOXING on Donaire who was top 3 on the P4P list at the time. But of course boxing skills don't really matter to you as a bandwagon fan boy.

Kovalev is a top 3 pound for pound too according to most. Ward could school him like Rigondeaux schooled Donaire, and still end up getting ignored due to have less personality than an apple and be on the Rigondeaux circuit of fighting journeymen on Liam Williams undercards on Boxnation.

Miranda? Well I guess beating Howard Eastman was pretty special. And Bika's sole claim to fame is that he lost to a lot of known guys and scraped by Periban. Tough? Sure. Elite? Not so much. Having Froch, Kessler and the shell of Bad Chad is good enough. Let's not try to oversell it.
