Who were Marcianos 3 biggest opponents?

    I'm asking a question about a boxers opponents. I actually wanted to learn the answer.

    But theres always gotta be at least one old fart popping a blood vessel over their fragile little egos and agendas.

    McVey once said he was going to shoot me, an stab me. I don't care what he considers insulting.

    I've seen you do the same for Jack Johnson, except he lost to big guys, drew with a heavier journeyman in a title fight, and won via DQ in another.

    Fair and balanced you are not.

    When you're a big puncher like Marciano, being bigger and slower is not a good thing. The speedier fighters gave him the most problems.

    Settle down man. Have a cheeseburger.

    Beating three big guys actually proves that Marciano can defeat big guys. Whether it was sparring, or journeymen fights, he handled em. He has the ability to do it.

    So you can't say Marciano never fought anyone big. But you can say he never fought anyone big that was a serious contender.

    But with all due respect, your agenda has been pretty transparent for a while now... Your question was a reasonable (if ultimately unimportant) one but it doesn't take much of an inferential leap to see this as part of your overall mission.

    Wow, you are really that paranoid?

    I was browsing Marciano's record, and noticed Humphry Jackson who weighed 250, but had no height. I was curious to learn his size. Then I was curious to see who were the largest men he faced.

    Honestly, the sad part is you are probably more interested in my intentions, than you are the contents of this thread.

    Wait, this is why you made that 2016 vs 1950 HW thread, isn't it? Lol, wow man, wow. The sensitivity you have around Marciano is weird.

    Shkor was a formerly top ten ranked SHW sized opponent.

    We know Rocky is capable of beating a former top ten SHW but would he beat an actual top ten SHW, depends how far your willing to leap imagination wise.

    Today he'd be about 205 pounds as a HW and I wouldn't imagine anyone favouring Tony Thompson over him. Nor Dmitrenko.

    But the likes of Pulev, Helenius? Where do we draw the line?

    Klitschko, Wilder?

    Fury, Joshua?

    I am giving him the benefit of the doubt but it is a huge leap.

    shkor had only won 3 of his last 10 fights going into the Marciano bout. It would have been like the equivalent of Mike Tyson taking on and beating someone like Mike the Giant White say around 1986.

    I have tremendous respect for anyone who laces them up. I don't carry around a mental list of boxers who I don't think are good. What I can do is have an opinion on who is better of two boxers.

    I can't think of any well regarded classic boxer who is not good. Seems oxymoronic.
    Don't think I can do so either for modern fighters.
