To be fair to Fury he's the norm for a heavyweight champ. Jack Johnson was reviled, Liston with mafia connections and a former convict, Ali the draft dodger and member of the Nation of Islam, Holmes comments about Marciano and that flying kick against Berbick, Tyson with violence towards females and street fights, Holyfield PEDS and illegitimate children, Bowe's sucker punches, ducking and kidnapping of his wife and kids. The fact is we've had 2 pretty civilised champions in Wlad and Lewis in recent years but Fury and the controversy that surrounds him as champion is nothing new. I have to agree, Mike Tyson has been convicted of **** and has also said and done outrageous things. I think people forget Mike Tyson bit a piece of Holyfields ear off and spat it out in full view of the world. But on these boards Fury snorting cocaine and hurting nobody but himself, spouting some uneducated comments is obviously worse than **** and a list of other things Mike Tyson said and did.
