How would Floyd Mayweather do against boxers in Roberto, Leonard, Robinsons era?

Hearns at Jr.MW would introduce PBF to the "chicken dance".....maybe at welter too.

Obviously you never saw Ray Leonard at welter. Just ask D.Green,Hearns,Benitez,Price (who he damn near killed,along with D.Green) If R.Leonard "slapped". Your definitely getting him mixed up with Mayweather jr and Sr. Who he also stopped by the way. (Sr.) Leonard fought like a super fast slugger in most of his fights at welterweight, than a slick boxer. In most of his fights, he was the one doing the hunting, not his opponent. To include him into what we've seen from Mayweather is simply wrong

Actually I did see SRL at welter. Saw all his early fights on TV and the "No Mas" fight in a theatre (closed circuit in those days). And yes, I saw (on TV) the ATG left hook with which he KO'd Danny "Boy" Green. And I saw all the other fights you mentioned.

The phrase that I used that has offended you, "slap fest", meant that I think he'd slap the crap out of Floyd.
I hope this makes my meaning more clear.

I think you would have done fine during that era, because he wouldn't have thought any of those guys. During that era he would have fought Hugo Corro, Edwin Viruet, and Davey Boy Green.

 

Yup. Leonard is one of the best finishers in the history of the sport. He was brutal.

floyds a great no doubt, love his skill set. The thing with Floyd that is a little disappointing (not saying it is or isn't his fault) is that I never got the fights I wanted at the time or weight I wanted.

 

I was going to post how I felt Benitez vs Floyd was the most interesting and how I could see Floyd taking it, but whilst I was looking up is stats it occurred to me that Benitez is 5.10. I don't think Floyd can handle a wizard who is bigger and longer than him.
