If Ggg wants to build a legacy he's going to need to do what his successful counterparts have done, and compromise in order to make fights happen.

The undisputed champion has to compromise to make the fight with his mandatory challenger. Now I've heard everything.

Jacobs loses all respect if he doesn't make the deal for this fight.

If he wants to continue deawing 800K on regular HBO and if he wants to continue to sell 150K HBO PPVs or 500K Sky PPVs at a measely $20, then yes, you are right, he needs not make any compromises...

If he wants to become a REAL house hold name, and if he wants to build a legacy in his last few years as a prize fighter, than he needs to stop acting like he's a Mega-Star and do as THEY did, compromise something/invest long term so he can establish his brand as a credible one.

You think fans are stupid like the GGGoons? There is a reason why an Asian fighter who barely speaks a lick of english was successfully selling PPV events despite having more than 3 losses and a few controversial fights, who GGG can't even sell more than a pathetic 150K.

I don't give a flying **** how much money fighters make or how much ppv they sell. That concern belongs to you fanboys and haters. Golovkin is the MW king, and Daniel Jacobs is a contender. When the undisputed champion is forced to chase his mandatory, the mandatory isn't eager to take the fight. Period.

And what kind of compromise you expect GGG to make when Jacobs says he wants an interim bout before? To tell jacobs that "Ok, you have your interim bout, I'll sit on my ass and wait for you to be ready."?

You don't care about what fighters make or sell because you obviously do not understand that boxing is a business. You rationalizing is limited because you do not consider what it takes to make a fight happen. Boxing is not like any other sport. Its not like Football, Rugby, Baseball, cricket or what have you. Boxing is Prize fighting, meaning the Prize is a falking BIG deal hence the reason it's in the name of the sport.

When you accept that negotiating is required to make certain fights happen then you can understand why GGG is wasting his prime and hindering his legacy by not budging and making small compromises to get opponents in the ring.

Most if not ALL the ATGs have made compromises at one time or another, and unless Ggg learns to accept this, his name will not be spoken in the same breath as his ATG counterparts.

I ask again, what kind of compromise do you expect GGG to make when his challenger tells him "let's not fight next"? A Win over Jacobs wouldn't mean **** for GGG legacy-wise, It'll just be another top contender scalp for his resume.

And btw, you're only pretending to care very much about business-side because It fits your fanboy/hater agenda. There's nothing more to it.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned but I've never heard anything so ridiculous as a mandatory challenger trying to demand almost double his share to accept his title shot!!! Whatever happened to fighters wanting to actually achieve something in the sport, make their name, make a legacy for themselves? Go out and win the fight, take the title and then you can have the champion's split for the rematch!

To me, if this is indeed the case (and I reserve judgement), it speaks volumes as to the mindset of Jacobs, who I like as a fighter and wouldn't rate as a no hope in the fight. You would expect a young fighter in his position to be chomping at the bit to prove himself as the top dog at 160. Instead, it almost seems as though he views it as a retirement payday.
