Its not just Haymon. Showtime has expressed alot of interest in the fight. They want it. This could get really interesting.

so now what? what if haymon puts out a ridiculous bid and ggg cant fight where al wants? what if jacobs uses this ruling as a reason not fight...saying he thinks he deserves more and isnt going fight unless he gets what hes worth

now you miss out on ggg/jacobs because ggg cant simply give 60/40 to get the deal done......another case of golovkin and k2 being themselves it would be

If the other option is losing the title or ruining the relationships with HBO, then agreeing to what Jacobs wants would be the obvious solution. But I think he doesn't get the final say on that either. In a perfect world, either HBO would give him their blessing to take one fight on Showtime or PBC people would be willing to put the fight on HBO, but obviously we don't live in a perfect world. So I've no idea what's gonna happen.

He was wasting his prime fighting in Germany on undercards, then went into a legal dispute with Universum for a year or two. Then he tried to hunt down Sturm for the WBA mandatory -- which failed because Sturm bribed the WBA for the Super Championship belt which allowed him to duck GGG.

So yea I would say GGG's management didn't do very well considering his potential. Yes, he made a couple millions now but he could have come to the US much earlier after they saw there is no future for him fighting on small cards in Germany.

I'm a Golovkin hater as I said in my post. I don't like him because of he's EE.

Although at the same time I must confess I didn't have a problem with Hopkins wanting to unify the division (like Golovkin), best fights being against fights who fought in lower weight classes (like Golovkin), calling out fighters from lower weight classes (like Golovkin) and wanted to break the 160 title defense record (like Golovkin), while beating some sub par mandatories (like Golovkin does).

But there is a big difference. Hopkins is African American so it's all good. :jump::ole:

Yeah I agree he's well-known. They've done the PR and marketing brilliantly. But like any 'product' it's how it sells which counts most and in this respect, his management have come up short.

I believe Jacobs will walk away now, make things as awkward as possible and eventually get stripped, he isn't even a real world champion in my eyes, it's basically an interim title.

Yeah....Hopkins went on and cleaned out Super Middleweight in an alternative reality.

I know shameful on Golovkin to turn down rubbish money against Ward. It of course was fine when Hopkins (because he's AA and not EE) turned down a career payday to avoid Calzaghe and Jones at 168 and fought reknown middleweight murdered Morrade Hakker at 160 instead.

Of course unlike that coward GGG who hasn't moved up at 35, I'm absolutely fine with Hopkins waiting until he was 41...and still chasing belts until he was 39. But lets not forget that all important skin colour difference.

Might cash out. He knows the purse bids will be high because both sides will want to win. So he could get a pretty penny.

Yeah maybe, I think Jacobs will drop the title and go after Saunders.
