First thing I'll say is I'm not a fan of Ricky Burns - I believe he's been incredibly lucky to win one world title, let alone 3 but he's made the most out of his limited abilities so fair play to him. What I can't get is some thundercunt like yourself who is going to so much effort to dis-credit someone in the way you have? What did you expect him to do at the end of the Beltran fight - go up and say to the judges "naw mate, you've got that wrong - give it to Ray"? Give me an example of when a boxer has ever done that?? You're also bleating on about him professing to be an ATG - I've personally never heard him say it. In fact, he's shyed away from even commenting when asked if he feels like a 3rd title qualifies his as an ATG. He may not have disagreed with it but why should he? For each dildo like yourself, there's maybe another out there that genuinely thinks he's belongs in that class. Opinions are a wonderful thing in that they are all different - some people accept that and then some people who are close-minded bell-ends like yourself, can't quite see that.
on paper ricky burns > ricky hatton and casuals will believe what they here and read this is why throwing titles round like penny sweets is dangerous for our sport
I don't but I still have to listen to them and the history books will also show that on paper he is that's why it hurts our sport badly
Hmm as Glasgow boy and a Ricky fan cant say Iv ever came across anyone at all that has thought Ricky was at the level Hatton was Casual or boxing hardcore ??? Never seen/heard it in real life or on here? To be fair most casuals (up here anyway) think like the haters do on here and discredit Burns a fair bit !
It took no effort on my part to use the rich faculties of reason and logic to formulate my view on the situation. On the other hand you would have to perform mental gymnastics and jump through hurdles in order to justify this fraud On one hand you acknowledge that he's been fortunate enough to win one belt let alone 3 and then on another note you provide praise for such deception. If Ricky was honourable and had an ounce of integrity he wouldn't need to confess defeat in the aftermath, but rather rectify the situation by offering Beltran a rematch to make right from all the controversy in the initial fight. Don't tell me you have you never seen a fighter do that before? Instead he went on to cash out against an opponent that he knew well enough that he had no business being in the ring with. And after that defeat, resolves to solely fighting indistinguishable bums and then somehow earns another title shot. Clearly you are fan of such fighters who milk their titles for all their worth rather than actually try to build a respectable legacy. It's fans like yourself who are one of the main the reasons why boxing is sadly diminishing in it's quality. It has now become the raison d'etre for a lot of these imposers to participle in the sport, as they now know that easy money comes via fooling fools.
You talk about honour whilst suggesting that Ricky should give a convicted drugs cheat, Ray Beltran, a rematch. In fact, Beltran was offered a rematch but the sanctioning body insisted Ricky defend against Bud Crawford.
Beltran got caught in 2015, the rematch that was supposedly offered in 2013. It was nothing but posturing. Just ask yourself, why why did he not seek to avenge his losses to the likes of Omar Figueroa and Zlatlicanin? What was stopping him? I'll tell you why child, Because he has no interest in legacy, he is simply after the fastest easiest buck and as such these type of fighters should never be labelled as greats or considered for any Hall of fame entries.
Wow the shame of a boxer wanting to (alleged by you) earn the fastest easiest buck. Why this charlatan isn't walking the streets, in sack cloth and ashes, crying "unclean unclean" I'll never know.
I think it must be said Ricky Burns's toughness and will to win is why he's a world champion, the Martinez fight, Katsidis, Gonzalez and the Relikh fight last week, all the same, his will to win is superior. You might like talent or skills in your world champions but Burns does it another way, the harder way. That's the opposite of luck. Stick the likes of Crolla and Luke Campbell in with Ricky Burns and you'll find out who the Charlatan's are.
who said he was the best or anything like that ?? no one, and he HAS actually won a belt at three different weights .. you sir need a dictionary cos you clearly dont know the meaning of the word fraud !!
A lot of Burns fans say he is a great fighter. His friends in the sky team always acclaim that he deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Julia Casar Casar, Oscar De la Hoye and Mayweather. The true boxing viewer knows this is undoubtedly nonsense. yet rarely do we see it challenged by the deluded. It also seems to me that you are the one that does not understand the meaning of the word fraud. I shall show you why Ricky is the embodiment of the word itself.
but i was referring to the guy calling Burns a fraud, when has burns said he is a great fighter. I suppose you could call the Sky team, maybe even some of his fans (yet not a single fan has proclaimed that on this or any other thread) they may have said he deserves it for the work and effort he has put in to his career, but not Burns never, but im sure you can prove otherwise ...... In fact there has been many many interviews from Burns playing down his ability (and people at Sky) many times he has said he cant believe he is a three weight champion which would suggest he agrees his achievements have superseeded his technical ability. He IS a 3 weight world champion FACT no ifs no buts, that is not fraudulent, deal with it n stop acting like a fukin 7 yr old jealous kid ! ps by using the definition you have given as a fraud all I have to do is say that you deserve to be the GOAT boxer and then you are a fraud ..... na it dont work like that people can give what ever opinion they want (as can you) but you cannot call Burns (himself) a fraud
Burns has a legit win at SFW. Then beat nobody at LW and was schooled the first time he fought a decent opponent. He's now "won" a belt at 140 beating nobody again. It makes a mockerty of the sport to call this bloke a three time world champ. He will have a big fight I'm sure, because after going bankrupt he needs the pay day, but his entire career has been about defending against bums.
