Is Wilder going to avoid facing Povetkin in 2017?

Povetkin is already Wilders mandatory. He will fight Stiverne in december and after Povetkin beats Stiverne, he is strenghtening his mandatory position.

Wilder will most likely fight next year around march-april time. Is WBC going to allow Wilder cherry pick another cab driver for voluntary defence? Do you think Povetkin fight will happen?

He didn't avoid him this year , why would he avoid him next year.

Good on Wilder for fighting Blubbereola instead! Word was that Chris was going to retire, and Wilder leapt at the opportunity to cherrypick a "name" for his resume. Now that's a smart cookie.

Not only did he get the W, but he got to keep all his teeth, as well. :D

That fight really annoyed me, wilder picked someone so bad it didn't even matter he only had to use one hand

I'm sure Wilder will find another excuse. God knows what the excuse could be next time? I dunno, he was busy opening up his new steakhouse in Alabama?

Surely he's looking to cash out vs the Wlad/AJ winner in a unification bout?

He'll need a tune up anyway, so it's unlikely he fights Povetkin straight away. After that, I dunno. Unification?

If he did that I'd forgive him his bum defences. Mostly, anyway.

Tune ups annoy me? Have they always been around to the extent they are now

Ffs danny Garcia needs a tune up before facing Thurman due to huge inactivity and fighting bums its nonsense

    Here's my dilemma:

    1) If Povetkin loses, doubtful I know, but if he does, do people still want Wilder to face him?
    2) The situation really sucks, it truly does, but Wilder might face another weak opponent because of his injury. I can't blame him but at the same time, IT SUCKS.
    3) If Wilder takes the fight and isn't 100% because of his hand, will people give him a pass?

The injury blows but it is what it is.

I think we all know the answer to number 3...nobody is giving wilder a pass for anything...not on this board

I wouldn't either, because you are what you are going in. But the same guys that give Pacquiao a pass, won't give Wilder one.
