Well sure, 60/40 is a stretch. Why not 70/30 or 68/32? If I'm negotiating, no matter what I'm negotiating, you typically ask high without actually expecting to receive that much. You ever negotiate for a car? You low-ball, they come down, you agree to go up a bit and never expected to get it for the low-ball offer anyway.

Networks do not outweigh a purse bid. If Jacobs wins, the fight can be televised like an independent PPV not tied to a network, without legal consequence from HBO. This is what Arum does when his fights are rejected by HBO and Showtime. Of course this means Jacobs promoter would have to pay the purse bid, and the costs associated with hosting an independent PPV. It would be like spending $10 to make $5.

To be honest it's probably safer for him to hang out on the forum.

The last time Schlongmaster ran around on his hands and knees trying to sniff women's crotches they chased him with broken beer bottles.

I think that is the main motivation. He wants to dictate who people support and how they do it.

Although I've never seen him point out over the top fanboyism involving any black fighter. Never once.

(apologies to everyone for bringing up racism, I hate it but around here it's a daily thing therefore unavoidable)

He's also said point blank it's because people trashed Floyd and he's still mad about it. Same reason basically

Well the above simply isn't true and I expected better of you Alex. I can think of numerous time he's been willing to take the smaller cut to get the fight signed, just ask Felix Sturm, Sergio Martinez, Miguel Cotto and Saul Alvarez.

The operative word is mandatory but the sticking point is the word champion. GGG was Canelo's mandatory but do you think he was going to settle for 75/25 cut. HELLLLL NAW!!!

he was going to settle for it, he was more than happy to go to purse bids and he didn't ask the wbc for a larger cut

also the wbc save 10% for the winner, so if ggg won he would have ended up with 35%

But he didn't try to negotiate he instead went over GGG and requested 40 percent with the commission. That is kind if the opposite of negotiating.

Sturm and Martinez: He was on the come up, of course he'd accept the smaller cut.
Cotto and Alvarez: They're bigger stars in the sport than he is, he doesn't have much of a choice.
Jacobs: Jacobs deserves less than 40% for sure but arguably more than 25%. Doesn't look like Jacobs budged from 40, and Golovkin didn't budge from 25. I'm not saying either man was stalling, just that neither man was making it any easier.

"he's been willing to take the smaller cut"

I never said anything about taking a "smaller" cut, just sacrificing a small slice to get the fight made. 60/40 for Jacobs is a bit much, I don't expect him to go that far. 75/25 is too far, imo, as well. Somewhere in the middle but closer to 75/25 would be a good split imo.

Jacobs is on the come up as a contender and like it not Golovkin is the bigger star so not sure what you're getting at. It's Jacobs who doesn't have much of a choice here unless you think that he doesn't want to take the fight at all which lots of people do.

I'm not sure why people think he 'deserves' more than 25%. That's what mandos get. He's made plenty from milking that BS title just like Povetkin did with Wlad and doesn't bring much of a fanbase/money to the table. It is what it is. If he wants to be a big star then he needs to go and beat Golovkin. Then he can call the shots.

im not mexican nor female....as you can cleary see...im more man than most guys here could dream of being....yourself included

he had 50k in the seats...and another 300k buying his ppv...against a nobody....that would suggest his popularity hasnt dipped...at all......the mexican crowd seemed to be behind him as usual against smith...im not even a canelo fan...thats just reality....try living in it

if you think jacobs doesnt want the fight at all...then you should support ggg accepting 60-40 so we can find out.....ggg could easily call any bluff here....but we know he wont....because hes ggg and he never makes good fights.....

what golovkin gonna do if haymon win a purse bid?

it was the same stuff with canelo...not once did he consider a cw and calling canelos bluff.....

If Golovkin calls his bluff and Jacobs still pulls out - which I think there would be a fair chance of -then he's then showed the world that he's happy to have his pants pulled down and got nothing for it. Only a fool would do that.

As for the Canelo BS, that was ridiculous. If you don't want to defend the middleweight crown then don't win the ****ing middleweight crown. That's always been my take on catchweight. I thought the 164 offer was ridiculous despite Ward saying he could make 160. I hate these BS fights.

I think 75-25 is a bit too extreme. Granted, Jacobs doesn't have a big following but I think he made around 800K in his last fight against Mora so I don't think he'd be too keen in fighting Golovkin for pretty much the same amount of money.

Anyway I hope Jacobs accepts the fight at this split and has confidence in his ability because if he's able to beat Golovkin (big IF,) he could end up getting the lion's share in a rematch.

Golovkin could also try to get the Saunders match done for this December as an alternative to the Jacobs fight.
