82% think Rocky beats haye by knockout. This could be for one or both of these reasons. #1 Haye was a built up, manufactured heavyweight and really is no bigger than the vast majority of guys Rocky beat. Therefore my pointing out that David is not even as big as advertised in real life is also relevant to this factor #2 Haye, regardless of size, was still no better than the guys Rocky beat.
Haye has a good amount of size and speed on rocky as well as having serious knockout power and Rocky was there to be hit. I think David may hit the deck but get up to stop Marciano.
I'm not sure how tall haye is. All the classic heavyweights seem like modern cruisers. Haye would weigh a lot more than Marciano and with modern nutrition/ juice and training haye is going to be a lot faster and more powerful then anyone around at that time. I just can't see how a fighter like Marciano lasts. I'd back a fighter like ezzard to do better because of his skills but still see him getting stopped.
Carl Thompson seems like a good dude and has elite heart. But he got lucky with haye imo, seem like haye didn't take Carl as serious as he should of. Also that was haye at cw not the hw beast that Marciano would be matching up with.
I think you need to see Haye fight Fragomeni (an inferior fighter to Marciano) and ask yourself how Rocky would do with those oppertunties. David had a lot going for him within an era, but who was really the best guy he beat? Why Didn't he dominate? And What was that best guy that he beat actually capable of in the grand scheme of things? All these things have to looked at and considered. Get past the modern TV close ups, camera angles, big shiney muscles and inferior opponents.
Haye's average weight as a heavyweight has been 217lbs that is an incontrovertible fact, something you haven't produced in your rambling diatribe. He would be the biggest class man Marciano ever fought unless, to bolster your argument you want to include the corpse of Joe Louis. For the record I think prime Charles, and Walcott both beat Haye, and I haven't made a pick here. Or it could mean that they just think Marciano was better per se than Haye. We are talkingabout heavyweight. You're someone who believes Charles gave Marciano real trouble because he elected to fight on the inside, when the film shows him working behind his jab keeping it at mid range as much as he could.
I know you've seen Fragameni Mr M, I was replying to the guy who modestly calls himself "whopperdong"
It's funny, Luck always seems to happen to the guy who wins.. Haye was no better at HW than he was at cruiser. He just artificially developed more weight when he moved up, just like everyone else. Think of how he fought, was he more physical? Didnt he avoid clinches? If David fought lighter men do you think he would weigh what he did against the big guys?
if he was pushover for haye, haye would have rematched him, instead he ran off to another division to fight the worst hws on existence. 1. chose to defend a world title against a 40 year old 2. got wiped out by the 40 year old, whilst prime 3. ran from that 40 year old you cant see Marciano doing any of those three things. These are the facets of the KLitshcko era. H2h the story is the same, Rocky tears haye clean off midway, if not earlier.
Charles, Moore and Walcott definitely. Louis and Layne perhaps. Joe Louis in his comeback might have beat better guys than Haye did at Heavyweight. Brion, Bivins, Savold, Agramantte and Beshore versus Bronin, valuev, Ruiz, Barrett? And that's the good ones!
