Hearns wants Joshua/Klitschko fight for all the belts. On another hand WBO vice president wants 4 men tournament to establish one champion. So Andy RuizJr/Parker will be an eliminator for the chance to fight for the belt if everything happens like he wants.
It was pretty obvious that Hearn wouldn't put his cash cow in a risky fight with only one belt at stake.
Just sat through Granat/Rill - Granat REALLY needs to develop a good jab, he's starting to move towards world level and unless he develops a good jab, work on his defense, and generally learns to fight tall he's going to get chewed apart. He's still towards the top of my HW prospect list, but whether or not he succeeds at world level all depends on what I mentioned above. On the bright side he's only 25 so plenty of time to improve. If Browne and Wilder can have success at the world stage then so can he if the proper improvements are made. I think Steward would have been a great trainer for him, shame he isn't around to fine tune these 6'6+ super heavies....
Yeah, Pike ate that telegraphed OH R midway thru the 1st rd.....he almost got KTFO. If that was someone even as good as Jennings, Fedosov, or a washed up Briggs in there, Pike would have been KOd.
Granat did not impress me that much here, don't see why his corner were leaping about so much. Rill is a solid journeyman, not a real contender.
His power + in fighting ability for a taller HW, along with his age give him a little bit of a pass FOR NOW. But over the course of the next 2 years he needs to work strongly on his jab, defense etc.
