I'd give Marciano a good chance against cruiserweight Haye, who had pretty awful stamina and punch resistance that often allowed much smaller and less harder punching opponents to cause him problems and in one case beat him. Heavyweight Haye I'm not sure. There's a lot more riding in Haye's favour there.
Marciano beats Haye the Cruiser, loses to Haye the HW. That is, unless the Hayemaker hurts his big toe.

Can you outline what was better about heavyweight Haye compared to Haye the cruiser? Heavyweight Haye was slower and probably had even less pace.
Haye is slick with speed and skill but I don't think he could cope with Rocky mentally or physically.after moving round the ring using his speed .as the fight slows the the rock turns up the heat haye will not survive the no stop wrecking ball attack .marciano was as mentally as strong as he was physically thats a rare thing.
Hayes problem would essentially be thus: He is not busy enough to win a decision against Marciano, or to keep Marciano off him for twelve rounds. He isn’t going to discourage him either. He essentially needs to stop Marciano in the first half of the fight, or he is just going to get taken apart. The smart money says that he doesn’t get an early stoppage. He probably makes this calculation himself, and instead starts a street fight with Tiger Ted Lowry, in the hopes of building a big gate on the back of it.
Haye at HW is faster than most (not all) of Marciano's opponents, and bigger as well. Two parameters that Rocky would not be able to overcome. Remember that "scientific" bout between Ali and Marciano, where Marciano wins? Ali weighed 210 in his prime vs Liston, Haye weighed in at 224-227 in his last bouts. I just think at that weight Marciano is at a disadvantage power wise. Yeah I know he could stop a bullet, could punch through steel etc. At 190, things are more even, and Rocky would pound Haye to the body and wear him down. IMO.
Haye is a vastly superior athlete. But I don't think he could live with Rocky's power. If Rocky has the durability of Carl Thompson, he wins this fight.
