This is a bad disappointment and a black eye for boxing.

We look forward to a new HW era where hopefully the best fight the best.

Franny Pianeta beat Frans Botha and Oliver MaCall. I guess he's more proven than Joshua too right?? :risas3::meparto::eaea:

It was announced weeks back that Wlad had a venue booked in Germany in Dec. Nobody thought anything of it.
Now we know he was never serious about the Joshua fight. This guy should just retire. Do people actually realise just how bad Browne is?
Wlad can step down to regular champion level if he wants to fight a club leveller like Browne. Thats what that junk belt is there for.

    Browne is a fearsome specimen

I wouldn't want to come across him down a dark alley

Not only is Browne slow with no skill, he is a proven drug cheat that escaped by technicality

    Vey disappointing.

People need to calm down it was made pretty clear that both sides would look at alternatives in case the WBA didn't sanction Wlad/Joshua for the title. Browne is simply a plan B.

It would be a real shame if the fight doesn't happen. If the fight doesn't happen it would be interesting to see how Wlad's decision would be seen in later years, especially if Joshua goes on to dominate the division like some hope he does. Browne may deserve a shot after what happened with Chagaev but he's little threat to Wlad and adds nothing to his legacy and nobody sees Browne going on to dominate, even if he somehow beats Wlad he's already 37 and has only a few years left at top level, if that.

Hmm...Wlad managed to duck Joshua, and get a title shot while he was at it...

War Browne. Passport getting a workout the last few years, good to see him get a break after the Chag rubbish.

    Clever.

But seriously, all jokes aside. He committed to fighting Fury in Manchester for the rematch. Therefore, fighting a currently "still green" Joshua there (instead) shouldn't have been a problem for him.

What a disaster the heavyweight division has become. Fury giving up. Parker and Wlad ducking Joshua. WBC mandatory still hasn't fought Wilder. Bring me the days when the likes of Maskeav, Chageav, and Ibragimov were all champions. That's how bad the division will become. Does anybody want to see Ortiz and Poverkin fight for the title when their virtually past their sell by date. Mess.

This ****ing sucks and I don't think Browne is any good at all. A shot Klitschko wins this fight.

I actually rate Browne, but it will have to be either a very shot Klitschko, or a very lucky punch, for Browne to win.
