1:07 WOW! Only a granite chin like Carlos Monzon could get up after being hit by a right hand like that!

Great footage Red! With our Monzon-Rodrigo 'debate' it reminds me of my good bud and I debating over Curly/Shemp. I always liked Shemp more but once I said Curly was better my bud developed great respect for Shemp. I know, stuu-pidd! But thanks for the footage! :)

Thanks, I needed that,...injecting my beloved Howard brothers into the equation..:beer-toast1:....each pair constitutes a debate where there are no losers, right? BTW, you know the details concerning Shemp's death, don't you? It involved boxing and a cigar..

Man, that Gil Clancy sure had some tough tough bridesmaid type guys then----Valdez and Ahumada. I always looked forward to their fights and any opponent was in for a tough night's work. Gil always had his guys prepared & ready to go. A real shame they fought in a time when they didn't have some softie type champions or these guys would be remembered better.

Valdez would have walked through a Canelo.

I need to watch more of Valdez .

I haven't seen a great deal of him because his resume outside Monzon is a bit thin and Monzon was a bit long in the tooth by that point.

Not only would Canelo get chewed up, I think Ahumada takes Kovalev. Not as one sided of course, but the longer it goes the more I like the Ahumada chances.

Valdez would have put Canelo in a ditch.

The First Valdez v Monzon fight, Valdez was dealing with a recent death in his family. The "rematch" Valdez was more at his best effort against Monzon.

Monzon wasn't getting any younger either. He was 4 years older than Valdez and fighting his last two fights ever.
