Like he did to David Haye? Haye's reasoning for why the Briggs/Haye fight didn't happen cuz he didn't have a belt and he can't do a UK ppv with Briggs unless he has a belt. With that said, Joshua has a belt and he could easily sell out the o2 arena on his own and do respectable UK ppv numbers on his own. So why not? By now, Briggs is known in the UK cuz he chased down Haye and the British seem to like him. He's a name in boxing, he would give AJ a good competitive round or two and get his payday; and plus AJ would look good knocking him out. I know I'm reaching here but what's your thoughts?
When Haye was lining up the fight with Briggs- he did not have a belt, and he knew this at the time. So his reason is ******ed. Haye's real reason for not fighting Briggs is probably because he is struggling to get ranked, because in order to get ranked and fight for a belt, you cannot make a comeback which includes 2 fights against low level and low ranked opponents who are both paid to take a dive against you. Surely Haye's next step is to fight someone who is not going to dive for cash? Erm, you know the insane notion that your opponent actually wants to win and is going to punch you back when you have your hands down by your sides posing
Briggs would get killed by Joshua. He'd probably get killed by Haye, and Haye's a washed-up joke too. Briggs is a likeable character but let's just hope he doesn't fight again. He should become a promoter.
