I think this would be a great fight. Haye is very fast and can punch. Povetkin is very aggressive and can take punches well.
I would love to see this fight once Pov has the WBC. Povetkin is a fight anyone guy, not a fraud like Deonkey.
He was cleared of any wrong doing. As it was obvious by the levels they found in him he had not taking it for months. Glad you are admitting it was nothing to do with steroids though. Povetkin's weight has stayed the same through his entire career. There are certainly suspicions steroid cases at Heavyweight, but there is no real reason to suspect Povetkin of steroids.
ALL Russians, Ukrainians are suspect Steroid/PED addicts. When dealing with them, they are guilty until proven innocent. Povetkin is guilty which is why he is under surveillance for a repeat offence.
Which povetkin we talking? The one who looked like my aunt Mildred and went life and death with HUCK in a war? Or the one who had abs and was ktfo everyone before getting caught for being full of drugs?
Haye is looking savage lately. This would be a good fight. Haye is much more of a challenge for Povetkin than Deontay. I've got Haye, but could see it going either way (by KO obviously). Reason: Haye has more energy and is more spastic in closing and exiting range. BTW- Povetkin was never a drug cheat.
Haye's looked savage against two complete cans. There's a huge question mark about how he'd do at the higher levels as of right now.
I've always favoured Haye in this match up. Povetkin's style suits him, he'll have an opponent come at him and give him chances to counter. And even though Haye isn't as agile as he once was, he won't have to look for Povetkin and he still has a good chance off walking Povetkin into something big. But based on recent form I'd favour Povetkin just because we don't know how much Haye has left. I may change my mind after his next fight though, if he fights anyone half decent and wins. Wouldn't shock me at all if Haye knocked Povetkin out though.
Even back in 2010 to 2012 I favored Povetkin, and now it's over 4 years ago Haye beat anyone with a pulse, so why would anyone favor him? Right! When Haye was looking savage against the likes of de Mori and Gjergaj, Povetkin was looking savage against the likes of Perez and Wach... spot the subtile difference.
Povetkin was on drugs in those fights Are we going to ignore that prior to that his best form was going toe to toe in rocky type fights with such luminaries as HUCK and "fat" Eddie chambers. Povetkin is a standard plodder with a decent chin and reasonably heavy hands. His body (when off the drugs) looks like my aunt Mildred. If he's not on peds I'm pretty sure haye can finish off a dude who barely scraped past a blown up huck (who is ****)
And Meldonium helps you KO Perez in 1 round how exactly? It might have helped him in the later rounds against Wach to actually take him out (on a cut), but wouldn't have any effect on the brutal beating he dished out in the first half of the fight at all. You really have no idea of what you're talking about. Povetkin is many times more proven as Haye, who's beat wins at HW are a questionable decision against a on his way out Valuev, and gatekeeper Chisora in a punchout.
