Lol...Let's leave Lewis out of the equation, just for now. Why did Bowe choose to fight against Dokes and Ferguson??? What does that tell you??? There were plenty of fighters in the division on and around that period who were capable of giving Bowe a competitive fight yet he chose two zero's at world level, fights that in all honesty should never have been sanctioned. The 90's was a deceptively strong era with many a name capable of challenging for the title yet Bowe chose to milk his title rather than give the fans a competitive match up. Bowe's whole career and standing were effected when he and his manager engineered the dodge of Lewis and am sure that he will forever rue the day when he tossed that belt into the garbage.....

 

Banter aside, i do think that Bowe 91/95 was arguably a better and more complete fighter than Lewis who was a little green and still learning his trade and had they fought on and around that period would have been a slight favourite but he certainly appeared not to want any part of the Brit and was content with milking his title and am sure in looking back, he wishes he'd made the match.....

For argument's sake, if Bowe really was better than Lewis at any point, then he is the world's biggest pillock for not fighting him. Imagine for a second he'd KTFO Lewis, and never rematched. He'd be a fixture in top ten lists. Right now, most guys have him outside the top ten.
