Foster by round 10, a decent chin just means Michalczewski gets pounded into the middle rounds. Offensively there is nothing I can see from Dariusz that would worry The Sheriff.
Foster wins but DM was durable and could pack a pretty good punch too. I don't see this as being the easy fight for Bob that others seem to think it is.
Oh really, and how many punchers did DM face exactly? DM wasn't steel chinned. He had a solid chin, but he could be hurt. But the biggest problem for him is that he had a mediocre defense and he was a come forward fighter. And against the best puncher in the history of 175, that's just a recipe for disaster. I'd pretty shocked if DM made it longer than 6.
He was stopped only once in 50 fights and that was when he was 36 years old, in the last fight of his career and had been off for 16 months. I concur that Foster would win, but our agreement ends there.
You could argue that Michalczewski would be Foster's best title defense, and Michalczeweski's win over Virgil Hill was as good as anyone Foster beat at light heavy Foster didn't always win cleanly as champion. He was floored and had a tough match vs Chris Finnegan. I like Foster on points here, but I also think Michalczewksi was durable and hit hard enough to have his share of moments. An upset is possible.
Leave it to ESB to overrate DM. You guys can live in a fantasy world where DM walks through Foster's best punches, if it makes you feel better. The reality is this fight would have ended with DM brutally stopped.
Chris didn't floor Foster. Only Frankie DePaula decked him in the first in a title defense...before getting obliterated in the same round.
