lol that guy looked tiny. Not wearing head gear...very bad idea.

 

Dempsey was known for being a tough sparring partner.

 

Dempsey beating up a welterweight.

 

He was training with that WW-MW, for speed and timing, that he got tagged was the consequence of sparring with somebody who didnt play boxing. The thought was if you can catch a speedier lighter fighter, the HW's would seem like they were fighting in slo-mo, in comparison. Joe Louis would spar FW Eddie Futch for the same reason.

Should every post contain new info? Your post "Dempsey beating up a welterweight." is that new it's there to be seen by all that he ko'd a smaller guy. Maybe some not as wise as you didnt know why he was sparring a smaller guy.

You were trying to undermine Dempsey by saying he was sparring a welterweight. We all knew it was a welterweight but you are acting like that is the level of opponents Dempsey has to fight when he was training for speed.

Besides being stupid now you are reading minds. First off it's a common practice sparring a smaller guy for speed and timing, which obviously you have no clue of. Second Dempsey didnt beat up a WW, he caught him and Ko'd him. Dempsey was not the type to play. The sparring partners big and small understood the risk involved only you see that he beat up a WW, like that's was the intent. I am pretty Dempsey sparred with the "WW" before and maybe after.
