No other heavyweight other then Ali could do it at that time Ali had the skill and the mental fortitude to overcome foremans power and he used Foremans aggression against him.

Foreman was a beast at that time destroying everything in his path the way he made fraizer look was cray.

Ali threw foreman of with the lead right hands at the start of the fight that confused foreman and when foreman could not not hurt ali he got discouraged. He began to lose hope mentally all while ali was landing that pin point jab busting up foreman making him look silly.

According to ali he could of knocked formean out even in the 6th but wanted to make sure before unleashing that lethal flurry and at the end of round 7 he told his corner "I'm gonna knock him out in this round"

Ali was also the only one to stop foreman

 

You have to be really quick , strong and have an Iron chin.

Really? How many 6"5 SHWs has Foreman knocked out? Foremans punching power is largely mythical from bouncing a glass-jawed actual CW in Joe Frazier off the floor 7 times.

Just because Foreman's punching power was state of the art in the 70s doesn't mean modern day fighters would be out of their league. That's ridiculous.

 

Cannot see any current heavyweight stopping Foreman. Could any go the distance? I think the best version of Wlad would stand a chance, but the current-day Wlad gets well and truly iced.

 

Every top fighter in todays heavyweight division has been dropped / hurt by lesser fighters than Foreman ever was.

Foreman was just very special . Im not saying every fighter from his era would do well today just foreman.

 

I don't mean no disrespect. Foreman was very special in his very era. He destroyed anyone they threw in with him. It of course helped that he outweighted opponents by 10-20 lbs and was 2-3" taller than them.

Would Foreman be called George "Big" Foreman in 2016? He'd be a very average HW today size and height wise.

Funny thing is nobody in football dares to compare Pele with modern day football players. Nobody compares Bjørn Born with modern day tennis players. Its unfair. Yet it's constantly done by novice boxing fans.
