Yeah, I see your point. The only thing I may add is that Cotto already had a name and a strong Puerto Rican following. If you fought him, you'd get a ton of money and possibly not get brain damage. Canelo, strong following before May/Pac, will make you some good money, and again, opponents have a chance of winning. Khan has some weird cult following and opponents definitely have a chance of winning. It seems like GGG really gained momentum right after May/Pac, doesn't have a country with a sizeable PPV population following, is seemingly impossible to beat, will emabarrass you, and can't make you the kind of money Cotto or Canelo can. I think the people that are eligible to fight GGG will just pass on it in hopes to fight Canelo, Cotto, Khan, Pac, or someone else.
I agree...cotto and khan brought their followings....which they have.....but those post pac/Floyd ppvs showed that if you do have a strong following you can still sell even after may 2nd 2015 stinker like I said....ggg fans claim hes wildly popular, talked about and the fans love him......and like I said...his style is a dream to a promoter/network .....yer absolutely right.....people that can fight GGG also have other options that probably bring more money......which is why ggg should be doing whatever it takes to get one of these guys in the ring with him.....his apologists and fanboys don't seem to what to admit that though....they think hes some guy on par with Oscar, Floyd or pac ....guys like canelo have other options that will pay them....ggg doesn't....yet his fans don't want ggg to take a fair deal that they feel is undervalued
I'm sorry but if this has been reported accurately, any respect I had for these two is now gone. Wouldn't go to 154 for Brook or Canelo (the latter would yield more money than a Pac fight so it can't be justified in a business sense), but will for an aging and near-shot Manny. GGG and Sanchez are a cancer in the sport that needs cutting out.
I suspect a lot of guys inside boxing see this as well...and are going to freeze him out or make him accept terms that aren't favorable
His behaviour is frowned upon. You don't see other middle weightS or even 154 pounders trying to grab a fight with Pacquiao and lure Mayweather out of retirement.
still havent seen one logical or sensible reason given as to why every other named/popular fighter on the planet can get good fights but golovkin cant.....it must be golovkin is so awesome huh?
David Haye would be a prime example at present. Can get massive crowds at the o2 with even the most dire undercards. Due to his lack of TV revenue and promotion though he can't himself finance the decent fighters he needs.....or rather they want crazy Briggs style money to get Ko'ed by Haye. The Champs and the immediate prospects don't want to fight him either, for the fear of their gravy trains being rocked.
