When I first heard of the $10m offer to GGG from GB I was like "lammmmme". But the more I think of it, I think that's REALLY close to what he'd make in the best case scenario anyway.
My logic comes from looking at Canelo vs. Cotto. I don't see GGG vs Canelo doing much more than that fight (sorry guys). So, Canelo made $5mil in that fight from the purse, plus 20% of profits (I assumed to be PPV) which I googled to be ~$58m. So that's $11.6m plus 5 mil which is about 16 mil. My math and research is probably all wrong so I'm wondering if anyone can come up with a better number. To me it looks like a pretty reasonable deal from Canelo's camp.

Of course it's a fair offer. It's more than Canelo got to face PBF FFS. This fight won't do half the numbers of PBF-Canelo. GGG is full of **** and is pricing himself out period.

To be honest, I don't think it is a bad offer either. I think the paydays from the Pac and Mayweather fights have jaded some of these boxers and given them unreasonable expectations. I don't see another one million ppv on the immediate horizon.

It's a great deal! He should take it before he misses out entirely!!

I think an offer a year out from a fight is pointless and agreeing to any offer, no matter how good it is, when the MW landscape has potential to change dramatically before than is risky.

I'll continue ignoring these negotiations that neither fighter has any reason to rush in the meantime.

Has Golovkin's camp objected to the timing of the offer or just to the amount?

Reg... if both sign the contracts now their purses will still be the same come next year. Are you implying only GGG will sign the contract?

I'm implying that neither fighter really wants to sign the contract until BJS has made his next move. The WBO belt in either fights hands raises their negotiation power quite a bit. On top of that, as soon as the contracts are signed fan hype will start to stagnate when everyone stops arguing on forums all day. ODLH knows that better than anyone.

Yes of Course Oscars done the maths,it doesn't sound a bad offer,of course K2 can say but if Canelo makes five times that then they're doing GGG a bad deal, truth is its a year away anyway so why would GGG take the offer now.
That said I can see both points and if it's a genuine take it or leave it offer from Oscar then I think you'll find K2 will take it,after all K2 never to seem to bring any cash to the table and so all the coin is from Golden Boy no?

GGG wasn't happy with the amount or the year. But it wasn't intended by Golden Boy that he would be.
