hell yeah wilder is a top dog. but we dont know who the best heavy weight is and thats not cool . cuz they dont fight eachother. and its not just wilder there all doing it. and its not just heavys its all weight classes.
Wilder is certainly not the complete bum I used to think he was. However he still hasn't really fought anyone that decent. His best wins are, a sick Stiverne, duhuaps, and Spilka.
and your opinion is that you wouldn't hold an opinion like that, which brings me to ask this, you saved me typing it -
At least Wilder does fight often enough and holds a belt so he IS going to have to fight someone of note sooner or later. More so than Haye who likes to have his name in the media but is just inactive for years on end. I'm just sick of all the hypothetical match-ups thrown around for both and wish they would just make their move now rather than drag things out any more clogging up the dynamics of the division.
Pulev has a better resume. Pulev beat three guys usually considered top 10-15 at the time, Wilder only two. But yeah, bad as his defenses have been, his resume is technically better than the others.
Decent chin?? LOL Now, THAT is a total joke. Wilder's chin is pathetic. He was starched in the ams by some nobody cruiserweight and then knocked down by two of the total stiffs he's fought as pro, and rocked by several others. The ONLY reason Wilder hasn't been starched yet is his management continues to pick (very) carefully selected mediocrities for him to fight.
I'd like to know this. Pulev s best win is waiting for 40something Tony Thompson to gass so he could stop him. How this makes a "top win" I have no idea, and anything below it certainly is a top win. Wilder has one world class win, and its not a strong one.
Lot of woulds in this thread Guys need to fight each other Ward-Kovalev sticks out like a sore thumb, it shouldn't be like that
I'd consider Pulev's top three to be Chisora, Thompson and Ustinov. Wilder's top two I guess are Stiverne and Duhaupas (Scott would be there too if you consider that fight legit).
Pulev? Nah. Stiverne was rated #2 when he was beaten by Wilder. The only top tenner Pulev ever beat was #5 Dimentrinko.
That's something I can't fault Wilder for, his activity level. A couple of his lesser tier wins have also come to be seen as more impressive than they were at the time, so it's not like he was bum feasting as was initially suspected. He can certainly look to up his level of competition, but in lieu of that at least he isn't just sitting on the sidelines (well, until his injury that is, but that's not exactly his fault).
