Me personally I though it was gonna at least be a competitive fight... Bruce Seldon was a competent boxer, Also he was champion going in... But what are y'all thoughts?
Yeah, it was easier than I thought. I guess Bruce Seldon had the same thoughts as we did going into the fight.
That's got to be some of the worst acting I've seen in my life from Seldon, nearly as bad as Arnie.....
Seldon had a decent flick jab but thats about it. I remember thinking Tyson in around 3. Wat a con job by Seldon they should have with held his money. Disgraceful
I also hoped that Tyson would win easily. What I did not expect was such shameful "performance" Seldon ....
Everytime I re-watch this fight, I wonder what was more pathetic: Seldon falling down as if he had been hit by a shotgun shot after Tyson punch go over your head, or Seldon shooking his head after the second knockdown, pretending to be very dizzy and hurt ..... Ridiculous, pathetic and shameful....
Fully agreed! I have said this several times here: IMO Seldon should be banned from boxing after such disgraceful performance....
I bet a friend of mine that Seldon would not get out of the first round. I saw him get knocked out in one round by Riddick Bowe, and that is all I needed to see in order to convince me that he wouldn't get out of the first with Tyson.
I doubt anyone thought it would go more than 3rds.Over the years he has probably convinced himself that he was tagged by a good shot.As Sandy Saddler said of Ken Norton, somewhat more inaccurately,"there's dog in there".
The "jelly legs" head-shaking act was the worst bit. That was awful. Seldon saw that the referee was going to let it carry on, and i guess he couldn't even risk himself long enough to take another dive for a stoppage, so he pulled that sh!t instead.
