Lol what? Did you just say that heights dont get inflated, but yet they do get inflated? So because Hoff is taller than Walcott, it must be Walcott height that's overstated? That makes absolutely zero sense. You would think Walcotts height is the more accurate one, since he's had more coverage in high profile fights.
"That's either just camera angles, or Walcott isn't 6'0." Well yeah since Hoff being taller than listed doesn't help your argument, that possibility must not exist!
"How often does a fighter being taller than listed happen?" "It's very common to inflate the height of fighters." You read this as "that heights dont get inflated, but yet they do get inflated?" antipsychotics have fried your brain
You said: "Heights get inflated." "On the other hand it just doesn't happen." Uh, what? Do heights get inflated, or do they not. You completely contradicted yourself. I sincerely think you are trying so hard to win an argument, you can't even take a moment to reflect on your logic to see how screwed up it is. You noticed a difference in height between Hoff and Walcott, and assumed that the reasons were either the camera angles were skewing your perception, or that Walcott is actually shorter than 6'0. Why didn't you consider that Hoff was taller than 6'3? How come? Can you actually back your position up with substance?
I also notice the height difference you see. But I think it's way more likely that we got Walcotts height correct. Walcott fought for the HW title many times. How would you go through all those high profile weigh ins and somehow not get your height measured properly? There's no way Hoffs height is somehow accurate, and Walcotts isn't. Unless you have some kind of reference or source to back your point.
Ali, Frazier and Foreman would all be champions today, I've no doubt. Charles, Walcott, Moore and Patterson would not.
I never said "On the other hand it just doesn't happen." You are missing a word. Also I clearly said that a fighter being taller than listed is something that just doesn't really happen unless he is 7'0. (And that's mostly basketball players who don't want to look like too much of a freak so they're listed as 6'11.) Which is no way contradicts "It's very common to inflate the height of fighters." Or "heights get inflated." Heights inflated is for example Thabiso Mchunu being listed as 5'11, when he's closer to 5'8 or Mike Tyson who was listed as 6'0 in his earlier fights when he's in faction 5'10/5'10.5 Do you know what "heights get inflated." means? It means that a fighter is actually shorter than listed. (the listed height is bigger than his real height) And I am talking about the fact that a fighter being taller than he is listed is an extreme rarity. Between camera angles, Walcott being shorted than listed, Hoff looking taller because how their legs/rest of the body is positioned, Hoff being taller than listed. Hoff being taller than listed is the least likely cause. And you only want to talk about how I said that Walcott MAY be shorter than listed despite the fact that I also said that camera angles may be the cause.
Never denied the possibility, just that between possible causes why he looks so much taller that it's the less likely of the bunch. But only the German wiki has him at 6'5
the English Wikipedia & boxrec does list him as 6' 3"--but the films show a very tall and lean man. His body doesn't even look like the photograph on boxrec when you see him on film against Walcott & Johansson. I think his weight was usually between 215 and 220 or so. I will try to do more research.
If Ali, Frazier and Foreman were around now they'd perhaps be the smallest/lightest men around though. (Even Foreman, who was huge, was 217 to 224 as champion.) Does it mean the rest of the top 10 are especially weak for their size ? .... or does it mean Ali, Frazier and Foreman are great ? Most people here would have no problem with someone saying Ezzard Charles and Archie Moore are the two best light-heavies of all-time, or that Patterson had the potential to be the greatest 175 pounder in history. This may account for why they did so well as heavyweight too.
And here, he's listed as 6'6 https://streamable.com/yepr So you got a pretty vast range for his height between multiple sources. I assume we don't run into the same thing with Walcott, do we?.
