Toney. Possibly even by stoppage. I really like Kovalev, but he makes some mistakes in the ring and is often very predictable. Toney would take him to school. For the record, I think a motivated and in-shape Toney outclasses Ward, as well.

Toney was sneaky! Not saying that Kov can't fight on the inside , but if he cannot, Toney makes him miss and pay at close quarters all fight long. Great fight !

After Chilemba, I'd have to regretfully pick Toney.

Depending on how Kovalev does against Ward, I could revisit that opinion.

Toney wins if we are talking a hypothetically prime and in shape Toney at light heavyweight. Too slick, too durable, too good a counter puncher, but if Kovalev uses his feet like he did with BHop he at least is competitive. But in reality this Toney never existed at light heavyweight.

But if we are talking about the Toney that actually fought at light heavyweight who was mentally broken after the loss to Jones Jr, who was lazy, unmotivated and who lost twice to Griffin and then Thadzi then Kovalev beats up Toney to win a decision.

What? Were you disappointed in Kovalev beating one of the trickiest fighters in the division 10-2 + a KD, and almost stopping him in the 12th. Toney didn't have a shitload of power at 175 and he lost to Griffin and to Drake Thadzi, its not hard to believe Kovalev could outpoint him.

If it's the best version, kov doesn't stand a chance. For me he's made to order for James.

It all depends on what version of James shows up. That's pretty much the M.O. with all hypothetical matchups for Toney. If the guy is in shape and focused, there's very few fighters in the history of the sport that can match him skills-wise. The guys really was a complete fighter in his prime with terrific technical ability.

Toney for me, grinds SK down in the late rounds, kinda like the Jirov fight

I don't care how badass you are you're not going to bully James mf-n Toney

Looks like today you'll be siding with intolerant, egotistical tyrant lover instead of the not so incognito fembot politician. This country is in a sad state though if forced to choose I don't see how Trump is a viable choice...he has no sense of reality, no knowledge of the issues that effect the majority of citizens in this country and no real agenda for this countries future other than spitting his thoughtless rhetoric. It doesn't shock me at all when analyst have discovered some of his most passionate supporters derive from the moderately educated lower middle class of America where the presence of a compassionate, intelligent and objective thinker is most needed.

Back to boxing, my apologies.....btw not shocked at all by your avatar.

James vs SK would be quite a barn burner however if SK can't hurt Toney and remain on the outside he gets mauled if forced into a pocket warfare, look at the Jirov bout as reference. I'm not saying SK fights like Jirov though the styles are quite similar and Jirov a naturally larger man. I think someone pointed out the fact that James wasn't what you would consider peak as a light heavy.
