Is Ike Ibeabuchi the biggest genetic freak in HW boxing history?

I think balance of the three is the one that can be developed. You can never ignore genetic gifts, it's just that and unfair fact of life.

    I agree with that.
But I'm not sure boxing, or Ali's style of boxing, requires a particularly rare (top top percentile) genetic advantage in the natural balance category.
I mean, people who train and practice really hard can become very good dancers, generally people who really want to get there, get there, maybe not Fred Astaire level or close, but very good. Maybe very good acrobats even, if they start young enough.

But these nature v. nurture debates are unresolvable and I end up not knowing what I think every time !

Muhammad Ali's recuperative abilities may well have been largely a combination of great conditioning and insane willpower. A fanatical self-belief.

His speed had to be genetics. Every fighter tries to punch fast, and I'm not sure anyone ever punched as fast as prime Ali (at heavyweight).

He's up there, Ali certainly is.

I'll throw out sam peter's name, his uncle (or something) is a wrestler called power uti and he's a monster too.

To those who say Ike was a genetic freak, you can't rely on the eyeball test. otherwise Duncan Dokawari would have been world champ. in many boxing-relative ways, Louis, Dempsey, Marciano and Liston were natural born freaks... and it was proven in the ring not in the mirror.

It's both. Every top athlete 'uses' something, but very few look like Ibeabuchi.

Even young Briggs had clearly smaller frame than Ike.

AJ is 6'6'' and 243-245 lbs at 26.

Ike at 26 weighed the same and he's 4'' shorter.

    Yes, he's definitely genetic freak.

I feel like flat feet have a lot to do with not having great balance.

Probably Carnera. An organic SHW with a Hercules like physique with natural proportions.
