Not really with the Peek-a-boo, more so an issue with the high guard. Tyson usually held his gloves on his cheeks/jawline with doesn't really get in the way of vision. But look at Pacquiao's gloves up by his temples, that totally ruins peripheral vision and makes dealing with head shots a guessing game.

I'm aware but nobody in the history of the sport is going to check every single one of those boxes. There is a difference between saying Hagler was slow and saying he was above average but in an era with a few of the fastest guys ever at that weight.

Given the fact that he did had everything else in spades, I think it is fair to call Hagler the most complete middle weight since SRR.

SRL seems somewhat more worthy of a nod than Hagler.

At times his footwork looked good and then at others he was insanely off balance which at the end of the day may be poor footwork.

I'd go with Joe Louis, Roberto Duran or Julio Cesar Chavez as possibles. These three probably have the best overall balance of the attributes above. Nobody had everything on that list, and most of the greats like Ali excelled in some of those categories but were short in others - Ali, for example had no uppercut and (in purist boxing terms) his defence was pretty poor - though he was rescued by supernormal reflexes and an iron constitution.

I'd agree to an extent - but Hamed was only ever great against second or third tier opposition. He had exactly one fight against a truly world class fighter of his era, and was comprehensively outclassed. Not one of the greats of boxing, by a long way.

I disagree. What he had was a good basic sense of the geometry of the ring.

It's sad that he seems forgotten while others of his era (mostly heavies) are discussed constantly. Helps to be big in this sport, I guess.

Of course. And the speed of mind and foot to pull it off.

I'm glad you mentioned him. I was browsing through and intended to give him a mention.
