There's no doubt McGregor is the biggest draw in combat sports, even more popular than Pac in 2009.

TBH he could surpass Floyd. He'll never beat the Floyd/Pac number, but his averages might beat it at this rate. I wouldnt be surprised if this ppv did 2m+, but we have to credit the UFC model too, when has Floyd/Pac ppvs had an undercard like this? I mean Floyd/Canelo had a good card, but it wasn't on this level imo.

At the end of the day it's about how much you put in your own pocket not ppv numbers

Because UFC rapes their fighters in the backside in terms of purses they can afford to stack the undercard.

UFC card was stacked. Two undisputed championship fights on one card. When was the last time that happened in boxing?

Also thanks to social media being far more relevant in 2016, I think Conor is more known than Floyd and Pac were in their prime. Like literally everyone knows who Conor is, even if they dont watch UFC. Back in like 2005-2009 a lot of people had no clue who Floyd or Pac were.

3 title fights. It was a very stacked card. Also in MMA there is only one belt per division in each organization so the title means even more.

Yeah that still means there are way too many champs

and there champs can't even fight each other unless they move Orgs

UFC has most of the MMA talent but not all
Strikeforce was considered the minor league and then when they got bought out there fighters started taking over the UFC

UFC really delivered tonight. That's for certain. Don't think the long awaited inaugural MSG card could have gone any better.

Yep, I'm a boxing fan first but I switched off Garcia fight to watch UFC. Easy choice when you have high caliber opponents facing off compared to Cherry Garcia vs I can't even remember his name.

During my freshman year of college, I couldn't get a single person to watch Pacquiao-Cotto w/ me (except my girlfriend at the time). And I didn't go to a dinky little liberal arts school. UMass Amherst, baby!!! Total party school with a million meatheads, yet none were into boxing.

MMA has a bigger audience, which completely blows my mind. I will never understand it. Even dorky gamer nerds are into MMA. I've tried watching MMA (McGregor-Diaz I was the first fight I ever watched) and I just can't into it.

How does it even work? What is UFC? What is Bellator? What is Strikeforce? Are these leagues?

It's the silly notion that MMA is 'real fighting'. Those Tekken playing dorks think that the UFC is the real life incarnation of their video games.
