Were the four kings of the 1980s really scared of Aaron Pryor?

I remember watching the press conference with ray Leonard where Aaron Pryor showed up and asked him for a fight, ray wanted absolutely nothing to do with Pryor. same thing with Duran and hitman. Tall tommy was clearly the best fighter of the fab 4 and probably the best fighter of that entire generation of boxers so why didn't he want anything to do with Pryor?

    Talk about it.

Are we saying Marvin Hagler ducked Aaron Pryor? Because he's the fourth king.

Duran certainly wasn't scared of Pryor. He fought Tommy Hearns instead ffs.

You'll notice Larry Holmes never fought him either.

Too busy sidestepping him to fight the likes of Scott Frank. Coward.

    NO

He would have had trouble against those guys at 147 lbs

His best win was against Arguello who was moving up from 135 lbs.

I think he would have easily beaten Mancini, but not Duran, Benitez, Hearns or Leonard

Truth has to be told, and truth is that Pryor himself was a lightweight himself.

He fought at 140 because he was ducked at 135.

But to add, at 147 he would have trouble.
He wasn't as big as Duran, and stepping up in weight is going to hurt a fighter who relies so much on his punch output a lot too.

No, Aaron didn't really become even somewhat mega until after his win over Alexis Arguello. He wasn't in no shape to beat Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, or even Roberto Duran. Hagler, please, that's a pipe dream.

He poses an interesting match up against Leonard. No way could I justifiably favour him, but for what it's worth, I think it would be the most intriguing and potentially least one sided fight.

None of them were scared in the slightest. Leonard would have shot him down in an entertaining fight by the 6th. Pyor would never beat SRL.

A lot of people don't know but SRL Pryor was basically sorted but Leonard retired before his tune up fight for Pryor.
