Whomever wins, I look at this as a dominating 1 way type fight. Not a back and forth highly competitive type fight but one guy doing everything he wants to do in there. And the other guy being stymied and doing nothing. A Monday morning quarterback type result & an easy win for 1 of them.

This is a very important fight in my eyes.

Ward was a very dominant force at 168, and I think that if we are honest, he was the best fighter 175 for a while.
Kovalev is emerging as a potential dominant force at 175.

Neither division is looking great from the neck down.

    I will watch with interest.

Don't know who will win, but I confess that I'm rooting for Kovalev to break the so called "SOG's" ribs.

LHW is one of the hottest divisions
    Kovalev-Ward-Beterbiev-Gvozdyk-Bivol-Stevenson-Shabranskyy and good contenders.

I think its a great match-up between top light heavyweights. The contrast in styles reminds me of Gene Tunney vs Jack Dempsey. Tunney Beung a great technical boxer and Dempsey being the big puncher. The action in the fight will determine how it ranks from a historical standpoint, but i see it playing out just as this one did. Ward the better boxer winning via decision.

When was Ward the best fighter at 175? Kovalev has been a dominant force at 175 for quite some time now.

I see Ward taking it easy for a round or two, after which he will know exactly what to do. He's a very smart guy. If plan A doesn't work, he'll switch to plan B. And if that doesn't help... well, then he'll probably spoil his way to a points win in an awful fight!

I like Ward. Kovalev is a tough guy but over rated. Andre will outpoint him and maybe bust him up a bit.

Does make me laugh at the folk who think GGG should move up in weight claiming Ward has done the same so he should, their situation is a whole different ball game.....

I'm almost expecting Ward to win this fight clearly, to show me why everyone rates him so highly.
I just can't see what's so good about him.

Well, Ward can be dirty at times. But I see the point you are trying to make.

In the Ward fight's I've seen, he's a chameleon in terms of adapting the best style to win, very good in preparing and " taking away " the other boxer's best stuff, with a shutdown type of defense and countering ability. He's also got some Hopkins dirty fighting in him on the inside.

He's not an easy man to describe, and because he's a little different in his major fights, hard to describe in a macro sense.

But's he a top level pound for pound boxer for sure.

    Does it matter?

Beat everybody at 168 whic is not far away from 175 pounds.

Build the weight up slow and the correct way
