I think it's bit of a myth that Toney had problems with high volume punchers, Yes, Tiberi, but he looked to be in awful shape for that one.

Otherwise, guys like Prince Williams, Jirov and Rahman all put out a tremendous volume against him but he did just fine (on my card he beat Rahman). And for Rahman he was some 40 lbs overweight to boot.

P4p Calzaghe is better than all the guys above, but I don't think he's such a bad stylistically match-up for Toney.

If it's the Griffin judges, Calzaghe wins. If it's the Jirov judges, Toney wins.

I remember watching Toney's fight with Prince Charles on HBO way back in the day. It was actually an excellent contest that has been all but forgotten and needless to say very underrated. At one point I began to cheer for Williams and continued to do so until he was caught off guard and KO'd in the last round. . The posted scoring for that bout was bull shlt. Two of the judges had it 106-102 for Toney going into the 12th round, when in fact that bout could have been dead even.

I had Toney way ahead in that fight as well. But I score less for just pure activity than perhaps most do.

Also puzzled by how so many could see DLH-PBF as a close fight.

I think Floyd won clearly, though I have to concur with the masses that it was somewhat close. Oscar stuck to his guns and harassed Mayweather on the inside as he said he would do. As for Prince Charles vs Toney, I might go watch that fight again.

I might as well. Only watched it once.

Same with PBF-DLH, but I didn't think Oscar was very effective when I watched it.

Floyd win fair and square. I just don't think he dominated or looked terribly impressive.

I think he was like he's been in most fights since he reached WW: just controlling the fight enough to win most of the rounds. Something like 9-3 or 8-4, where he usually ends up.

I think Toney would drop Calzaghe a few times. Calzaghe does have some attributes to take advantage of Toneys cement feet but he'd get tagged a lot jumping in and out with those slap flurries.

Jirov was basically even with Toney going into the 12th. Calzaghe would do better than he did.

That bout happened when Toney was 35 and fighting at Cruiserweight. He had stopped campaigning at super middle a decade earlier.

There seems to be misunderstanding because Toney had some off nights. Now Calzaghe might very well that version of Toney.

We are talking about the best versions of each fighter otherwise thesefantasy threads make little sense. That is the one that beat Barkley.Does anybody really believe Calzaghe beats that version of Toney?
