Stevenson: I am King of division! Winner has to face me

Just off the top of my head. There are a bunch more I cannot even recall and if Ward wins tomorrow over half the board will be claiming they knew Steveson was better all along as well.

 

I begrudgingly agree with this. Stevenson has devastating power in that left hook and it only takes one punch of his to take out his opponent. Both ward and kovalev have questionable chins so it would prove interesting even though I think both are superior boxers.

 

I find that hard to believe that Stevenson would be willing to fight the winner of Kovalev/Ward. Althought I would like to see Stevenson fight either guy (I'm dreaming)

 

I personally think Ward and Kovalev are both better than Stevenson. I'd like to see either fighter take Stevenson next win or lose.

Ward is far too clever to get tagged by a one trick pony like Stevenson so easily outpoints Adonis who also came up from 168. He's nearly 40 too. That fight is an absolute schooling.

As for Kovalev, well he turns Stevenson's lights out 9/10 with the pimp having to hope to land big early in a gun fight to stand any kind of chance.

 

If he's really intent on fighting the winner, I think he should fight the loser first in the spring/summer time of 2017 with the winner taking on the Ward-Kovalev winner in the fall/winter. He's been fighting soft opposition for too long to believe he deserves to be thrusted into an immediate unification fight with the winner. He needs to test himself by facing the loser of that fight, who's probably someone I'd still favor to beat him.

 

Stevenson may be lineal, but he's not the best. I'd put both Ward and Kovalev above him.

Ward is simply confirming what anyone who knows boxing know.

Kovalev, he's still climbing the ladder and will need about 1 year to recover from his pending loss.

Its just a bunch of rhetoric to stay relevant. He wont fight the winner of this fight and likely wont fight either guy at all.
