Sergey Kovalev vs. Andre Ward RBR

DRAW.. Not sure why so many people fail to realise this. If ever there was a reason for a DRAW, this is a text book example. Both fighters gave a good account of themselves and right across the board, the opinions are split.

 

Didnt Kov have a rematch clause?

The only problem with that is Ward has him figured out now.

Ward won 3 rounds. Got knocked down and hurt twice. Clinched, ran and in overall showed a disgusting performance like Marco Huck. Boxing is officially dead after today.

 

You get the feeling from Kovas interview that he purposely decided to box and that in a re match he would just go into Krusher mode

 

Ill say this - the russian proved their weak spirit. Ward kept fighting, and Kovalev stepped off the gas. Europeans don't have the heart to press on and nail in the coffin. It's NOT A SPORT, ITS A FIGHT! Close. the. show.

Anyways not buying the rematch. it's bull****.

Yeah, he won four rounds clear...But could easily have shaded three close rounds, too. I wouldn't have complained had the decision gone the other way, but this contest become closer and closer as the fight went on.

 

He did but it never hurt kovalev significantly. They see you really have to do more to beat the champ and in my view Ward never did enough to deserve to win all the belts.

Pot shotting and spoiling while you have been knocked down and on the back foot for the majority of the fight isnt a convincing enough case to deserve to take the belts.

 

Ward made the necessary adjustments he needed to make. He got sharper, and made Kovalev miss alot down the stretch. There was a lot of close rounds that could have gone either way, but it was no robbery.
