Now all see why Ward has been undefeated for so long. A real future ATG.

 

Ward is truly an ATG with those adjustment skills, tbh I thought it was over after the 2nd. First rd, Kovalev stunned him with a jab, second round he goes down, then Ward adjusts and dominates most of rds 6-12.

 

I think the thread title is a little off, I don't think even Ward would say Kovalev was "crushed".

 

Ward dominated the Super middleweight division, but people forgot.

Now Ward is going to dominate the LHW division the same way he did SMW.
Kovalev should be honoured to have taken a defeat from this ATG boxer.

 

Well I had Kovalev winning but think Ward after adjusting would dominate a rematch.

That doesn't mean he didn't get the benefit of home judging in this one though. Anywhere but US soil then Sergei would have got the W tonight. It's kind of a shame because if Kovalev had got the W then a rematch would have been all but guaranteed and Ward would have been a lot more proactive going forward IMO. He wouldn't have been worried about that 0.

 

Both fighters fought a great fight.
I was impressed by ward but have to admit i thought he came up just short. with the difference being the knock down...ill have to watch it again.
It was a great fight. glad i ppv'ed it.

Icredibly beatiful adjusment from ward. He just couldnt handle the power, he just couldnt get close enough to hit the body, so he adjusted and passing under kovalev's hits clinched and exausted him making thus his power totally irrelevant in the last part of the fight. So beautiful execution from a very very very smart boxer.

Props to kovalev, the hardest puncher pxp imho. And he wasnt sloppy with his defense (I thought he would be, as it happened like that in most of previous fights). Just got outsmarted.

I think that nobody believes now that gg can win to ward, no? isnt it? seems pretty obvious to me.
