Also, Kevin Iole says he didn't care who won but he predicted an 8-4 rounds win for Ward or possibly even a Ward late stoppage win. So, not sure he's being honest here.
COMPU _ BULL **** MEANS NOTHING. That's like saying Hillary should be president b/c she got more votes. Fights and scored on a round by round basis and elections and scored on a state-by-state basis. Just stop with the COMPU BS I wish it didn't exist. You don't need to count punches to determine who won a boxing fight !!! In fact it dumbs down the analysis of a fight. I wish it didn't exist, if you win the close rounds you can win a fight even if the other fighter won had more decisive rounds. Thank You *MIC DROP*
He won't fight Kovalev in Russia though. We know this already. Lol Ward knows he was GIFTED a decision.
to fight in russia his promotion team better fork out the cash.... Which being the tight fisted *******s they are.... they'll send him to fight in oakland next time. Ward got $5 million despite being the challenger. Being Champion ward will demand a lot more $$$$$
I didn't score the fight. But, based on what I saw, Kovalev edged it. 115-113 (7-5) Kovalev seemed like the right score. But, some rounds could have gone either way, and if you chose to give them to Ward, it's a draw at best...and and 1 point win for Ward at worst. I will need to watch with the sound off and score it. I can understand Kovalev being upset. But, a rematch favors Ward.
At the same time, SAS doesn't know a lot about boxing. Pauli, who knows a lot more about the sport, gave the fight to Ward.
In terms of scoring , I think kov had too much of a standard to overcome . it was like if kov didn't hurt ward, he didnt execute his fight and therefore lose the round . Ward expectation was judged differently.
I thought Lederman's card was bs. We know he is and always has been biased towards the aggressor. He makes himself look like such an idiot after a close round when he reduces boxing to activity and ignores Ward's sneaky but clean punching, and screams that 'Ward didn't throw enough'. Max Kellerman did a great job tonight. Yes it was a close and giving Kovalev the decision would've been fine, but anyone who scored it 116-111 or more for Kovalev and calls it a robbery doesn't is missing the subtle but important punches that Ward landed, and how effective punches may have been to allow Ward at times to dictate the action.
This is actually a good point. Also, Ward is flashier than Kov is when he is on the offensive. Kov is very effective with what he does, but at the same time he is basic. When Ward is throwing out check hooks and stepping in with a left hand it LOOKS like he is doing much better than Kovalev is with his 1-2. I could see that swaying some people as well. I'm trying very hard to make this not a robbery right now lmao.
